In an attempt to pump some more life into this forum, I've decided to ask what kind of forged weapons you guys have made in this game.

Money is much more tight compared to FE9, so most of the time I only forge weapons for units that really need them, and ones in case a unit needs some more power during the last leg of the game. Here's a few weapons I've forged over the time I've played:

  • NorthernLights (green silver sword)- Lucia's personal weapon. I had to train her as my trueblade for my first playthrough, so I needed something to give her a little boost at the start. It ended up better than the Alondite in all stats and I had missed Stefan, so it was the one that she got blessed in the end. In memory of that event, I make an effort to forge the sword again each playthrough.
  • Artemis (white silver sword)- Zihark's personal sword. Mostly used to act an extra boost of power when he needed it in part 4.
  • Forest Bow (green iron bow)- Used to help train Leonardo. Failed and ended up using Shinon, but didn't sell it back since I spent so much on it.
  • Eclipse (purple wind tome)- Used to help train Ilanya in wind. Kinda failed.
  • (custom blue iron lance)- I can't remember the name of this one, but I know I made it to help train Fiona and Aran. It, too failed.
  • SouthernCross (white silver lance)- Sigrun's personal weapon. Because I like using her. Once gave it to Marcia instead since she was going to be on the final team.
  • Lady Axe (pink silver axe)- For Ike. Because I could and to help him get his axe level up.
  • Choppy (pink steel axe)- For Nolan when he fell behind. Torvos ended up being a lot more useful in that aspect, but he had to be dropped in the end due to his speed being too low. I don't really consider this one to be a failure since Nolan would have been great thanks to its help in part 1 had his speed not gotten RNG-screwed so badly.
  • Grand Cross (yellow silver lance)- Can't remember if I made this in FE9 or FE10, but I'm pretty sure I gave it to Devdan/Danved either way.
  • Ice Pick (blue steel knife)- Made for Heather when her strength was lagging and needed a decent ranged attack. It's probably the only forged weapon I've made that has gotten totally used up.
  • Polaris (light blue silver bow)- Plan to start forging this each playthrough to give Rolf or Leonardo a power boost near the game's end, since Shinon usually gets the Silencer.

I only made one, a Red maxed Silver Knife for Volke named Blood Sting.  I might make more in my next playthrough.  I even thought about going tthrough the last chapter with only forged weapons and Ragnell.

For me, forged weapons were mostly used at the beginning of the game since Micaiah's party had the most gold. I made:
- Ragnarok- A Yellow light tome for Micaiah so she could solo most enemies.
- Tyr- Blue Iron Bow for Leonardo with decreased weight and increased might so he wouldn't suck so much.
- Mjolnir- Uber Might Red Hand Axe for Nolan so speed wouldn't be a factor.
- Gungnir- Black Javelin for Tauroneo the only time I used him. Transferred it between him and the BK a few times.
- Green Armour- [insert obvious color] silver axe for Ike to help with his weapon level.
- Jormungandr- Pure Black Silver lance for Nephenee to boost her enough to double Ludveck and finish him.
- Fenrirsulfr- White Wind tome for Soren/Sanaki to help compensate for their speed bases (why is everyone so speed screwed?)
- Ashura- Deep Red Silver Sword for Eddie on my sword- users playhtrough. Used for Part 1, 3 and non- final Part 4.

Ludveck is the final boss of part 2, isn't he? IIRC, you don't even have the Forge option during that part... Do you mean Levail?

I've made a few weapons here and there.

For Micciah Hikari(White light tome) a maxed out light tome, pretty much for her to use on non knights and I kept thani for use on knights.

Azure spear/lance I've made it for both Aran and Fiona and used the blue that matched their color armor.

Yellow/Gold silver lances Under various names such as Benevolence/Valor/Honor/Courage and other knightly sounding words for my spear users during endgame.

Green or light blue silver sword Kusanagi for my trueblades

White Silver sword Excalibur for Mia

Yellow Silver sword Ouryukeen for Zihark

Matching color weapons such as green lances for oscar that are called Oscar's lance and so forth.

Blech, you're right, can't believe I missed that. Should have noticed, since it's a silver lance. I always thought lancer vs. lancer was epic.

Dark blue Silver Sword called Z-Saber: gave it to Zihark and got it blessed.
Red Silver Axe Mjolnir: Jill got this cause Nolan was using Urvan with everything maxed except luck.
Black Silver Sword Deathbringer: Eddie got this one cause it suited him
Orange Light Tome Holy Light: Orange Light Tome used in the beggining by Micaiah.
Black Wind Tome Deathnote: Cause I like the anime and Soren was kicking so much ass with it.
Red Knife called DragonKiller: ended up having Sothe kill most of the dracoriders in part 4.
Red Silver Lance called Sky Piercer: Gave it to Nephenee so she had a custom weapon made for her.
Gold Silver Sword(hehe): Gold Dragon have it to Mia until she got Alondite.
Thats about it.

Byakuga-White maxed thunder tome. Gave it to Soren because crit boosts are awesome.
Zangetsu-Black maxed silver sword. Gave it to Zihark because he's my favorite swordmaster.
Kunai-black silver knife. gave it to Sothe for no real reason.
Rairiki (I probably spelled that wrong)-Yellow maxed silver sword. Gave it to Stefan because he looked best with it.

I can't really remember any specific forges, except for one...
I made a maxed out Silver Lance for Nephenee for the final chapter, since I already had Gatrie as the Wishblade user. I think it was white, and named Holier. o_O

The only forged weapons that I would use are just Iron Weapons and that forged weapons are only useful for the earlygame, because they are better off spent to buy Arms Scrolls instead.

Sothe- (Green Iron Dagger) named it Dagger.
Like for any forged axe, I would name it "Cleaver"!
Leonardo- (Forged Iron Bow) named it "Bow" because I wanted to go back to the ol NES days when the very first FE game' Iron Bows were named Bow.
Ilyana- (Forged Wind Tome) named it Gust.
Laura- (Forged Light Tome) named it Chakara.

You mean the arms scrolls you get in the final chapter?  Your characters are most likely S or SS by then anyway, so I don't see the point.

Anyways, the only forged weapons I use are when I have a fuckton of money left over and when someone basically needs it to help them kill.  Using Jill is easier for me because I forge an Iron Axe with a lot more power, etc.

I've forged a couple iron weapons early on - Jill is a great example; a slightly stronger iron axe can be a huge help.  Usually, they're called Aeon weapons (means I only have to change two letters ).

I made a few on my last playthrough.

Blue Axe - Blue Iron Axe for Nolan during the course of Part I, seeing as his Strength was starting to lag.
Red Axe - Red Iron Axe for Jill during the course of Part I. This was to aid her ailing Skill.
Gusty - Yellow Wind tome for Ilyana. Helped a bunch after buffing up her Thunder Rank to prep for Rexbolt. Got a +10 Hit from a Coin.
Icy Silver - Sky blue Silver Lance for Marcia to be used if I didn't get the Wishblade(but I did). Also got a +10 Hit from a Coin.

If you have saved your good weapons, such as the Tempest Blade; you would not have a need to forge any weapons, but do that if you'd like as you can sell the Laguz Gem (that you have got from 4-3) for quite a pretty penny as you can get another one anyway from Nasir in Rebirth (4).

By the time you get Nasir's gem, you'll only need it for Rebirth part 5. Rebirth parts 1 and 2 are the final chapter parts where you need the gem most, I've found. The dragons are bad, but all your laguz start with a full transformation meter, and by the time the meters are drained you shouldn't be in any immediate danger anymore.

Actually I don't think I ever made anything accept increased attack steel weapons, but on FE9 I made a thunder tome called "PWNBolt" and used the critical glitch, so it had 255 critical rate.

Good weapons are better early on, because your characters need them more.  Odds are, I won't have them at that point.

Oh, boy. I don't remember what I named most of my weapons, so here we go;

(White steel axe): I gave this to Boyd, and since it had a high accuracy he was able to hit just about anybody with it. It was great for a while, but when it began to fail to kill people I sort of lost interest in it.

(Orange silver sword): I gave this to Eddie as soon as he became a Trueblade, and damn it made him good; it pumped up his crit massively, so he was delivering major overkill to the enemies in the immediate vicinity.

Golaud (throwing lance): This was a throwing lance I crafted for Nephenee at the beginning of Part 4. Too bad that it ended up being weak as hell, though.

Melisande (Blue silver lance): This was another lance I crafted, again for Nephenee. This one was a little more useful in that it managed to pump up Nephenee's critical hit percentages, so I have warm feelings about it.

Breeze (Wind tome): I crafted this for Soren's use, and it wound up being better than Elwind by a long shot, too. How that happened from the basic Wind tome is forever a mystery.

And that's about all I remember right now.
