There's another way to abuse BEXP as well. You may have noticed that in most cases, giving a character a full 100 EXP subtracts more or less than 100 from your BEXP pool. In fact, it will probably look quite a bit like bottom chart at
http://serenesforest.net/fe9/bonus_exp.htmHowever, if you give less than 100 EXP at a time, you end up spending less BEXP overall. For example, at level 1, it costs 85 BEXP to level up according to the aforementioned chart. But if you only give the character 4 EXP at a time (which, at level 1, deducts 3 BEXP from the pool), you can level him up using only 75 BEXP.
I could go on, but I believe that all FE players have sufficient knowledge of ratios to figure the rest out for themselves. Do note, however, that this cheap trick lets you level a character all the way up to 2 Promoted without spending more than 100 BEXP on any given level.
Also note that, to the best of my knowledge, this trick does NOT work in Radiant Dawn.
