I got Brawl now and I recently got Lilina's sticker. Her game of origin is title Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade.
Should this be considered a semi-official/official name for the game?

I think they both sound incredibly generic, but that might just be me.
In any case, I don't think Binding Blade should be considered 'official' unless the game is released outside of Japan with that subtitle.

What I find strnage is that they bother to "translate" FE6's title for the stickers, but they leave FE3 as "Fire Emblem: Monsho no Nazo" (from "Shiida's" sticker, which also doesn't seem like a very good translation...)

Well, there were semi-translations from Melee IIRC, and those were changed when FE7 was released; so, they're not exactly set in stone.

It is worth noting the "Bit Generations" releated stickers are known as "Digiluxue" (SP?). Digiluxe was thier planned North American name only they never came out.
It is quite possible FE6s translation got as far as the subtitle of the game before being scrapped and they just used this translation here (which brings up a constistency issue*). How far that is nobody can tell prehaps its better off not knowing...NES Earthbound, 100% finished, scrapped for profit reasons* *-Cart size, manual printing costs, NES am dead
*-The get the Lyns age wrong...well correct for the Japanese version of FE7 but not correct based off their localisation. They get the Black Knight and Ashnards Swords names wrong.

Another inconsistency is in Melee where Roy's 2nd trophy lists his weapon as the "Sword of Seals".
The same name is also listed, but unused, in FE7 (solely going by the unused name, the name can't be established as canon, but you have Melee as well).
This also argues against Binding Blade being a possible NA subtitle.

Unless it's talking about what the SoS does rather than what its name is...

Is there a difference? o__o Anyway, it does refer to it by name, if I understand you. His blade, the Sword of Seals, gives him excellent reach... Also, you'd think they would have the game name and its namesake have the same name. For instance, I don't think they'd call a game "The Sacred Stones" and keep referring to the important objects in-game as "Holy Jewels".

No, I mean that "binding blade" could be refer to what it does while keeping its name as the Sword of Seals. I'm fully aware that Roy's trophy calls it the SoS.

Wait isn't the Durandal known as the Blazing Blade (Blazing Sword or whatever). That would debunk the Japanese FE7 subtitle if we are going by the logic presented above.

Wait isn't the Durandal known as the Blazing Blade (Blazing Sword or whatever). It is. However the Sword of Seals isn't known as anything else, same with the Sacred Stones. BTW, I meant to ask earlier, but what did they call Ashnard's sword in Brawl :?

I'm not sure. I don't believe I've gotten his trophy yet. I can check tomorrow, when I get home, though to see if I have it.

Dieck is translated to Deke.
And I'm sure I've seen Rutger somewhere, dunno if he was localized.

Rutger got mistranslated as Rutoga, too damn literal for me. I haven't gotten a lot of FE-related stickers or trophies, they seem to be rarer than they should be

But what if NOA changed thing so it was And I wouldn't put it past NOA ( maybe more 1990s NOA...Triforce of the Gods doesn't translate into Link to the past no matter which way you look at it). It would be bizzare given the melee translations but that didn't stop a whole load of FE6/7 locations changing names. BTW, I meant to ask earlier, but what did they call Ashnard's sword in Brawl :?
Provided the trophy descriptions have not changed since the files on the Japanese release: Gurugant. Did you see it? Did you? Isn't it meant to be Gurgurant by NOAs translation? I even told NOEs cheif of translation (and the other inconsistencies) so they could correct it for the PAL release and...the e-mail didn't bounce is all I can say meaning it probably went into a junk folder *sigh*

Of course, the Fire Emblem in FE8 is more often referred to as the Grado Stone, and in FE9 it's more often referred to as Lehran's Medallion...
I think that in FE10, even though it's the same item as in FE9, they call it the Fire Emblem more often than they call it Lehran's Medallion, for some reason. Maybe I should actually count the number of times they use each name for the darn thing on my next playthrough...
