This topic is for FESSers who are currently looking for a game but don't know exactly what it is they're looking for. If you're looking into a game and want to know if it's any good, or if you just-plain have no clue at all what you're looking for, ask here.
And remember: FESSers' opinions > Reviews.

FFCC:RoF is a good choice, better than the first one for GC if you ask me.
And I can't stop repeating it: Jeanne d'Arc.

I've heard mixed reviews about it, so I'm not one to say. Was a little hesitant about picking it up myself. However, there's a load and a half of PSP RPGs. Jeanne d'Arc is simply fantastic.
I'm currently looking for a good RPG for my Xbox 360. Any of the good old fashioned turn-based style ones out there. I have Eternal Sonata, and loved it. I heard Lost Odyssey was okay, but I want to find out a little bit more about it before buying it. Anyone played it?
EDIT: Gray Fox beat me to mentioning it. xD

I feel the DS Crystal Chronicles is what Phantom Hourglass should have been, save for the, you know, RPG elements. Although, its isometric camera action really gets to me for one reason or another
Dragon Quest IV has an internal European script for all the languages already in the game, so if Japanese wasn't your thing, you could always get into that. There's also FFIV DS, that FFTactics Advance 2 thing, and the like.

Well, there are a few RPGs on the DS and PSP that are pretty good, like Final Fantasy Tactics for the PSP and of course Valkyrie Profile, not to mention Breath of Fire III and PoPoLoCrois. I also saw a re-make of Riviera for it, but since I'd only ever played a few chapters of the first game, I can't comment on its quality.
There's also the remakes of Final Fantasy III and IV one the DS.

If there's gonna be an "official" topic, you should edit the first post to have a list of games for each console/genre that FESSers have recommended.
Anyways, I guess it depends what kind of RPG you're looking for... the new Advance Wars for the DS has been pretty fun for me.

That would definitely become way too complicated, and it wouldn't be terribly useful. Yes, you could see the title of the game and genre, but there'd be no explanation of why that game is there. I want to keep things simple. If you want to post your own list, by all means post it, but I think having one large conglomerated list would be largely unhelpful and unwieldly. And BlackFire-LynFan: I don't actually own Bomberman Land Wii, but I've read and heard numerous opinions about it, none of them particularly praising at all. It seems like the number of bad minigames far outweighs the number of good ones. Again though, if you're a fan of the Bomberman series, you might be less apt to pick up on those problems.

The graphics are fun to oggle at for a while, but then they, along with the rest of the game, get insanely boring.

Seiken Densetsu 3 seemed good whenever I tried it, but, I'm not into Mana games Don't forget about the GameBoy Final Fantasy Legend games too, if you wouldn't mind the age. I wasn't a fan of Secret of Evermore either, but that might be up your alley as well.

It was also the game that was the framework for Sword of Mana on the GBA. Might be interesting to play to see the differences. *-In Europe it was known as Mystic Quest Legend since the only Final Fantasy game we got until FFVII was final Fantasy Mystic Quest (and it was just known as Mystic Quest). But on the whole most people see Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu 3 as being the good mana games. The Final Fantasy Legend games are SaGa 1-3. The SaGa series is a rather chaotic take** on the JRPG genre. You can read more about the series here. **-In the sense of character growth being depedant on actions in battle...at least that was the intention.

As long as were going to mention old Gameboy games, I may as well toss in Revelations: Demon Slayer. Similar to Pokemon because you get demons a fight them, but your character also fights and to recruit demons you have to talk to them and convince them to join you. (If you've played any Shin Megami Tensei games, you probably get the idea.)
Perfect World is an acceptable, free MMO if you're into that kind of stuff. The visuals are pretty good, but the English translation is pretty bad (even humorous at times).

Celice, you mean Final Fantasy Adventure*, right? Righto~ I'm not quite sure how I mixed the two, other than the fact that neither were actual Final Fantasy titles. Even remembering the Mana wasn't the RPG one I think I had the recycled graphics GameBoy game in my head as the Final Fantasy and the new graphics as the Mana. Wrong way around.

I played it years ago, and I remember it pretty fondly. Sword of Mana for the GBA was pretty good, but the character design just wanted me to strangle a baby, for whatever reason. It's how most Mana games are, it seems.

I got Ring of Fates, and I pretty much love it. None if the dialogue is worth reading, however. Unfortunately, though, this makes my third DS Final Fantasy game, and fourth DS Square Enix title (Remember Mario Hoops?). I think I'm selling out.
