What I'd like to know is...how Micaiah knew the Heron language which happens at the start of the game and how she got Sacrifice? Because no Heron knows Sacrifice and that Sothe mentions that it is some sorcery art of some sort, kind of a power that only the gods know. Maybe is because of her being branded is why she know Sacrifice, I dunno? That's the only part of the story that got left out as they have never mentioned anything about how she knew either. =\

IIRC the heron language would come default to her upon being born; she is of Heron blood. As for Sacrifice, I have a feeling that portion is associated with being accompanied by Yune.

Doesn't Nailah say, in a Base Info convo, that Herons are one of the few races that live long enough to have the time to learn it? Meaning they wouldn't just inherently know it?

Micaiah doesn't know the heron language. She just knows how to chant tomes and sing a certain galldr. If she did know, she would be able to talk with Volug.
As for Sacrifice/Healing Hand, it's probably just her innate ability that they didn't bother mentioning. It's probably linked to the natural healing powers of herons, eg. Blessing.

I thought there was some conversation with Stephan or someone that said that the branded could eventually attain powers that neither Beorc or Laguz could ever learn. This would sort of fit in with the whole "adapability and evolution" theme presented at the end of the game, since Micaiah would possess a power beyond both a beorc or laguz, and thus have an ability of apparently divine power.

She's also a mage, and mages' spells are written in the Heron language.
As VincentASM said. Apologies for the repetition.

Like others have said, she's a mage, and that's why she can speak enough of the ancient language to cast spells. Besides that, being able to read your conversation partner's thoughts helps a lot with understanding them, even if you don't know all the words they're using.

It was said that the Apostle could heal with the use of her hands, talk to the Goddess, and all that other stuff. Seeing as how Sanaki can't the actaul Apostle is Micaiah.

Huh, I thought she did know the ancient language. Didn't she have a converstaion with volug, or Leanne in the endgame convos? I could be wrong, but I remember she was replying to specific things Leanne was saying about usuing a skill, and with Volug about the treasure in the ruins.

Micaiah does indeed have such a conversation with Leanne (if you decide to take her as your heron for the final chapter), but when Leanne says stuff in the ancient language, Micaiah replies in English. Still, the fact that she understands what Leanne is saying does say that she knows the ancient language. A conversation with Volug? I don't remember that one...

Yeah, I remember specifically, right after comming out of the Hatari Desert. It's in the final chapter of Micaiah's arc. This comes from the Serenes Forest FE fansite, where they translated the Ancient Language dialogs: * I put the normal speaking parts in italics, just as the site did.
Micaiah: Volug, where-- How did you get this? Volug: I got it from the ruins in the desert. Micaiah: From the ruins in the desert? Oh, you got it when we were there before? Volug: No, not quite. Micaiah: No? Then...how? When? Volug: You should keep it. Micaiah: What? It's for me? Volug: I will catch up to you later. Micaiah: Wait! Volug? Did he go back to the desert just to get this...?
Given that, I would assume she speaks the Ancient Language, at least somewhat fluently.

Actually I meant to say it's almost certain that Micaiah can't speak the Ancient language.
In other words, some people can understand a particular language listening to it, but they can't actually speak in the same language. I'm fairly certain such a scenario can happen.

Soren probobly knows enough of the ancient language to know what someone is saying, because he uses spells and so he knows enough to cast his magic. So would Micaiah.

Ah, ok, I understand now. In that case Vincent, I think you're right, she probably can't speak much of the lanuage besides her tomes. Funny, that places her much in the same realm as Volug too, as he can understand modern speach, but can't speak it.
