Thanks, I already mentioned it, but the translation was awesome so I'll definitely be using it XD
Also, the missing two Kanji are "Final Chapter". I suppose it could be replaced with just a "F" (or "Fi" or something).

Sorry, Vincent. Just a suggestion, if I may : an alternate to "F" or "Fi" could be "ED", as "End". Not as exact as "Final", though, so you can ignore my suggestion if you want.

I'm definitely going to ignore them, pretty much for the reasons KiddoCabbusses described.
I just wanted to quip in really quick to say that "Aritia" has always been "Altea" in all of the English translations. This goes for the anime(lol), Melee and Brawl. I don't expect to see this one change anywhere else. Medeus is also consistent in the SSB series.

Yeah, you're right. I was generalising, but I didn't think of those two. I wouldn't be surprised if they were used in FE1 DS as well.
However I won't be using them still. I'm a little biased I guess- I never played any of the Smash Bros. games and I only watched the anime in Japanese ^^;;;

Caught another. In combat, the Critical stat is abbreviated "CLT". It should be "CRT". (L/R thing, it's "Cr" in the stat menu.)
I think it's a graphic rather than a string.

Dare I crack a joke about this? "Let's make a patch so that all the females have this stat!"

CLT is present in the original game and was not altered in the patch.
However! I know where the graphic is, so, supposing I can draw an R in there, I can make it more sensible.

They do, the problem is all the males have it, too. CLT is present in the original game and was not altered in the patch.

Yeah, I know, but I figured it sort of fell under translation since it's text (visually) and not proper English. Also, it may have been technically correct in Japanese, but as Kiddo noted, it definitely does suggest an incorrect meaning in English.

New patch! Version 0.972 (getting perilously close to 1). Changes: - CLT to CRT. - Perfect ending is in, using AceNoctali's translation with some minor edits by Vincent. - Got rid of . in Round, so now that fits in the arena.

It seems that translating the "perfect" ending glitched the standard ending somehow...? It text about the end of the War of Heroes didn't misalign and scramble before...
I'll probably go check the War of Darkness ending as well, although I don't think that had anything that could glitch like that... hrm.
(The timeline text also goes for a much longer time than it did in the JP version, which causes a musical desync. Not necessarily something that'd be problematic, though.)
It also seems that in the Item List/trade list, the "x' and "*" are no longer present.

It seems that translating the "perfect" ending glitched the standard ending somehow...? It text about the end of the War of Heroes didn't misalign and scramble before... Ack! I know what happened - I had a flag variable signal a longer line length for the perfect ending, but I'm setting it for the regular ending as well. So it's allowing 31 characters per line rather than 19, which of course doesn't fit. Easy fix, at least. (The timeline text also goes for a much longer time than it did in the JP version, which causes a musical desync. Not necessarily something that'd be problematic, though.) Not much I can do about that short of cutting down the amount of text, which I'm not willing to do. It also seems that in the Item List/trade list, the "x' and "*" are no longer present. That was intentional - Vincent mentioned long ago that it would be better to leave them out and I agreed, I was just lazy. Anyway, the new patch with that fixed is up. Doesn't really warrant a version number.

Just dropping in to add some encouragement!
I’m glad to see you’re still tearing on through all the hard work. In a month or so, I’ll have some holidays, and may be able to offer assistance with proof-reading the translation, if you need any …
In the meantime, keep at it! You’re doing lots of people a huge favour!

You have some good points on the absense of the symbol, but something about how it's currently handled now...
ah, yeah. It's the idea that there's this large, blank gap between the holder and the number and, in the light of our problem with text overflows (And they're happening on this menu), I feel something should be done about it.
(On that note, actually, does it honestly make sense for the game to keep track of which item slot the character has an item in? It's rather weird to see it in the trading menus and the like...)

For those that worked on this patch, I have the deepest appreciation. I'm sure it was a lot of work and I finished both books of Fire Emblem 3 and very much enjoyed it.

Thank you so much for this patch. In the future do yall have plans to do another FE game? RPGuy is probably the better person to respond, but all the other FE games are in English or have good translation patches already. Well, except FE1, but somebody's already working on that. I would like to do another translation though. However I'm not quite finished with this one (I still need to look over the script some more, once my exams are over).

Thank you so much for this patch. In the future do yall have plans to do another FE game? You're welcome, but one is quite enough for me. Plus, the SNES FEs and Sealed Sword all now have more or less complete translations, Gaiden's is playable, and the original's getting remade, so there's not really any incentive to create a new patch. There's a couple of other series out there that I like but are missing games, but it would be tough to convince myself to start another project like this one.

You guys are incredible, thank you so much. I just finished FE3 and it was amazing! I've played all of them besides 10 and this was my favorite besides FE4. Book 2...the maps were ingeniusly designed, and the adrenaline rush running from powerful reinforcements. The story...for book 1 was skeletal but enjoyable, for book 2 however, it was engrossing, dramatic, and brilliant IMO. Thanks again, just about everything was translated and worked well. I don't know if this was mentioned, but when you recruit Abel with Marth in book 2 that bit of text wasn't translated. That was the only thing I noticed, besides opening movie and the occasional text run off in chapter titles.

Would you look for a game to do on your own or would you think of helping another person out with a game? I'm sure there are a lot of projects with people who need translators in the help wanted page at romhacking.
