So instead of going to bed last night, I stayed up an extra half hour because I wanted to sing the Galdr of Rebirth myself as well, so I went through the three versions of it - Life Returns(Leanne) and Reyson Leanne(Reyson and Leanne) from PoR and the track Galdr of Rebrith(Rafiel, but sounds exactly like Reyson anyway) from RD.

The lyrics, as near as I can get them transliterated, are as follows:

Imi Sanaki Kuu Ano Not
Oro Kot Moro Damet Motai Kot
Hmm Erfeto Teti Awemei
Oti Iki Omami

O is long, E and A are short, U sounds like the double o in boot, and I sounds like the long E.  (Think romaji if you know it.)  (I don't.)

Interesting thing...the second word is, in fact, Sanaki.  As in, the apostle.  Very interesting.

I'd be quite impressed if someone could get the Lyrics for the Galdr of Release.  Unfortunately, for Rebirth I had three to switch between
if I was ever unsure of exact pronunciation, whereas for Release, only Micaiah sings it with the words.  A bit harder; I can approximate at best.  Bah.

Micaiah's Galldr of Release and Dawn Awakens appear to be the same song as far as I can tell.

Unfortunately, in this game, the sung lyrics are harder to figure out from just reversing the Japanese romaji.

I do know that the first two verses are accurate, but only if you swap the two around (i.e the first sung verse has the reversed romaji of the second verse and vice versa). From then on, I have no clue : /

I'm impressed and gratified to see how close I was (and yet so far away)...

Listening VERY closely, I see where I have made a couple errors that agree with your version, VASM - on the second line, it is, in fact, Kokumoro (with the u slurred like in Japanese), not Kot Moro.  Problem there was that Rafiel slurs the K a bit so it sounds like a T, while Leanne is very clear.  And on the first line, it is Kugano, not Kuu Ano.  The G is very, very faint, but it is there.  However, it is very distinctly a U there in Kugano; it doesn't sound like the Kegano in your version at all.  And in Leanne's version, the line ends with a very distinct T, as in my Not, rather than your No.

The fourth line we are in complete agreement over, except that I split it into two words and wrote it with a K, but a hard CH (which do exist) works just fine there.

The real problem is the third line.  Admittedly, my Hmm at the beginning was because rather than launching directly from the first actual word or starting with an Ah or Oh sound like I'd expect, they both begin with a deliberate hum which seems to be important to the galdr, so I kept it.  Replace that with the Ua you have and it works, but it doesn't sound like that at all...

Eruheto and Erfeto I can see the similarity.  And on the Techi vs. my Teti, it's the same problem as on the second line, but this time, both of them VERY distinctly sing it with a T.  And then you have a Arahiruhoima...I have what it sounds like, which is Awemei (Leanne's sounds nearly like Awimei).

So, with editions:

Imi Sanaki Kugano Not
Oro Kokmoro Damet Motoi Kot
Hmm Erheto Teti Awemei
Oti Iki Omami

This is, within the finest degree of accuracy I can get on my own, the best transliteration of what is ACTUALLY sung, at least in the version of the soundtrack that I have...which is also from Serenes.

Thanks for the link, BKY, and thanks (one again) to VASM for being awesome with everything.

I hadn't realized that Dawn Awakens has the Galdr of Release (upon listening, I believe you are correct).  I'll try to transcribe it later tonight and we'll see how close we are.     Nice thing is, it's SLOW.

Hmm, I remember for the 'actual' lyrics, VASM romanized some already reversed japanese lyrics where they probably fixed it up themselves. If you actually reverse the japanese, it looks like this.

Real reversed lyrics: (I replaced 'chi's with 'ti's)
imisanakikeganonawot
orokokumorodametemotowikot
uaerufetotetiarahowimay
oditiuomami

I also had a listen at the song myself...

However, it is very distinctly a U there in Kugano; it doesn't sound like the Kegano in your version at all. And in Leanne's version, the line ends with a very distinct T, as in my Not, rather than your No.
I agree with that, I can definitely hear kuga and not kega. The actual japanese for the first line is "towanonagekikanashimi", so when you reverse it, there is indeed a 't' at the end.

The original japanese had a 'f' rather than a 'h' anyway, so 'erfeto' is actually more accurate. 'ch' in japanese can be interchanged with 'ti'. With the fixed lyrics, 'Arahiruhoima' is actually 'arahowimay', so now it sounds slightly closer to 'awemei', somehow. To me, it sounds a bit like '...teti rawimay', where there's a 'r/l' sound before the 'awimay' part. Anyway, @_@. I also can't make out the 'Hmm' part either... For 'Oti Iki Omami', it sounds like 'odi iki...' to me.

Good luck with Galldr of Release/Dawn Awakens. They're slightly different, where GoR has three lines sung, and only the first two seem correct (when swapped). For Dawn Awakens, the first four lines (when the first two are switched) are pretty much correct, but it kind of goes crazy after that.

This is almost unrelated but I'll post it here anyway.

Lately I've been working on an English version of 'Life returns' that can be sung. And here is the result of my (hard but somewhat fun) work:

WARNING: I know nothing of English poetry (I'm French), so expect this to be strung together with amateurish rhyming and lots of unnecessary adjectives (so that it fits the beautiful tune).

Quote
An endless grief and an endless sadness,
Have put countless of lost souls into profound slumber.
The fading stars in the night sky have ceased to shimmer,
Enveloped by the darkness.

Even in this era of unending unease,
You might have the chance to glimpse the pale radiance of hope.
It's there, in the pure sparkling of each water drop.
And there, in the sweet whispering of the gentle and warm breeze.

Gather your courage and prepare to fly,
To break the bonds of chaos so that you can dance freely upon the sky...
The sky...
The sky...

Interestingly enough, this version seems to relate the events of Radiant Dawn:
-Ashera petrifies everyone saddened to see that the Beorc and the Laguz are at war.
-The heroes gather into the tower of Begnion's capital which reach the sky.
-They release Yune from the medaillon and are freed from the gods.

Oh, what the hell...

Micaiah is singing letters that aren't there!  She sing the first line as Eterufai Raki Odhiyabam.  In Dawn Awakens, and on the site, the first Et isn't bloody there!  Otherwise, that's what it sounds like, which is fairly darn close.

Second line: Ira Oairu Meni Kagan is what Micaiah sings.  Dawn Awakens has it as Keni Agan.  Rrrgh!  Keni has a letter at the end, but it's far too soft ot make out what it is.  VASM's version has what Micaiah sings, almost exactly.

Agh.  More later, if my head doesn't a splode.

The following NecroDoublePost has been brought to you by Mage Knight 404 and the Children's Television Network:

Back to work on Life Returns:

Eke,
Asasa Noyu Osesmi Ezak,
Ote Komo Keristina Tsimai Ta
Usa,
Fonfini Miyo Kuru Tibunak
Amisikat Hiru Kanis Kas

Eti,
Komiki,
Komiki,
Amiku Temi Sami Roku
Ano Saasabiska
Aros...
Aros...

The first word is Eke; not a chance at your Ike (even if we do love him).  There is also no M at the beginning of the next word; it's Asasa.  Before Ote there is a long held 'Oh' like the hum at the third line of the Galdr itself; I just left it out this time.  You have a ga where I put a ko...the g/k maybe, but it's an O, for sure.  I then have no idea what's going on with the rest of the line; they don't even look remotely similar.

Usa is fine, and I can hear the Wuru...no, on second thought, I can't hear it at all.  Definite Fs there.  My Tibunak and your Tihonak are very close...prehaps it should be Tihunak?  There's then another hum at the beginning of that line, omitted again.  Then...Amisikat and Emishikad are fairly close, but once again after that the line goes berzerk and I've got no clue what's what.

The whole last verse is just screwed up beyond compare.  Eti is about the only part where we agree...I mean Tomiku and Komiki...maybe.  There's another held note after the second Komiki.  But...Amiku Temi Sami Roku...I mean, that entire LINE just doesn't exist in your version!  Then you have Arosawasabuti where I have Ano Saasabiska...maybe remotely close again.  But then YOU have half a line which is not sung...what the crap?  And then all they reverse is Sora, not Mau, so the line ends up a simple Aros.

Whoof.  This here then is the complete singable version of Life Returns, at least as singable as anything gleaned by ear will be.

Imi Sanaki Kugano Not
Oro Kokmoro Damet Motoi Kot
Hmm Erheto Teti Awemei
Oti Iki Omami

Eke,
Asasa Noyu Osesmi Ezak,
Ote Komo Keristina Tsimai Ta
Usa,
Fonfini Miyo Kuru Tibunak
Amisikat Hiru Kanis Kas

Eti,
Komiki,
Komiki,
Amiku Temi Sami Roku
Ano Saasabiska
Aros...
Aros...

Hopefully I'll get back to Dawn Awakens in the next couple days too...

The lyrics on SF are more japanese-based, so the "ike" you see is not pronounced as Ike, but like i-keh (i not like eye, but like king). And the current 'Actual' lyrics aren't really actual but just the reversed romaji.

BTW, how loud are you listening to the songs? I'm using earphones, and I can hear 'tihonak'. As for 'Amiku Temi Sami Roku', it's quite similar to 'tikotemisamiorokok'.

I guess they wanted the song to maybe sound a bit more foreign, so they sang it a bit more... creatively.

This is what I've done, with the lyrics as actual as possible and without relying on the "actual" lyrics.

i-imi sah naki ku ganonot
o-o-oro-oh kokmoro dametmotaikot
m-m-m yeh efeto-oh teti lawimey
odi iki womami

e-keh azasa noyu woses mi ezak
oh-oh o-ote-eh komga kiristi nazimata
usah vunfimi miwo konu ti-i honak
ooh-ooh amisi-i kati-iru ka-ah miskaz mah-

eti kamiki kamiki ahh-ahh ahh-
ahhhhmiku temi semi ro-oka aro sa-ah sami-ista

I know that...

I use headphones with the volume turned up probably more than is healthy.  It sounds - very distinctly - like a U in Tibunak; so I dunno.  And the middle bit is close, but the beginning and end are miles off.

Our first stanzas seem to correspond with only a few of those cosmetic changes I mentioned before - and R or an L missing, stuff like that.  The real difference is where we chose to divide up the words, and there's no real right way to do it, though good idea to depict held notes.  I should do that.

The last stanza...it's very distinctly an O in Komiki, or so it sounds to me...

This is much better to do with input from other people; thanks, NTG.  Now, to tackle Dawn Awakens...

...later.

Oops, I guess I misunderstood what you said about Ike .

Yeah, same, I have the volumed turned up a bit more than necessary. Makes the loud instruments kill my ears...

I kinda divided the words randomly too, though I tried to divide the ones which were sang with separately.

The ones I'm having trouble with are "konu" and "kamiki". I can't tell what is sung in the second syllable of "konu", and then I'm not sure if "kamiki" has a long 'a' sound or long 'o' sound.

No prob, ^^ it's nice to have other people working on the lyrics too.

You think it might be that the people who sang the song just have a unique singing style which might throw off some of the lyrics?

You know, like how rappers tend to break "You all" into "Ya'll" or something like that.

I've been thinking it might just be the singing style. In Life Returns and Dawn Awakens, the lyrics are more or less the same I guess, but it's been skewered quite a bit. Though, we're aiming to write the lyrics exactly how it sounds, so that it's singing-friendly.
