The topic title should be self explanatory. Don't just throw down a list of ten names, either; explain why you like using them. Morbid detail isn't necessary, but at least try to type up a sentence or two.

Roy: Roy is mandatory and a decent character in his own right. His Rapier is pretty useful and the Sword of Seals is the best weapon in the game.

Alan and Lance: These two are around for the entire game and make a great team. I don't see why I shouldn't use them, barring poor level-ups.

Bors: Everyone seems to think armors are terrible in this game, but Bors doesn't seem too bad to me. I've always found his high defense helpful in the Sacae route.

Dieck: Dieck starts out great and provides a solid presence throughout the entire game.

Sue: Normally I dislike characters with low strength, but I don't like Wolt or Dorothy and Shin looks like an alien. Besides, I like pairing her with Roy for some reason.

Lugh: I actually don't like Lugh, but I prefer him over the other two mages. Lilina is too slow and Hugh joins too late, so I have to settle for this kid.

Clarine: Another character I don't like, but I still prefer her over the other healers.

Ray: Sophia is pain to level and Niime can't take a hit, which leaves Ray. He's a fairly interesting character for a child as well.

Miledy: Miledy starts out pretty strong and only gets stronger. She's the only flier in this game that I even bother with.

One last thing: This is meant to be more of casual topic where people discuss the character they enjoy using and not some tier list discussion. If you want to argue over which characters are the best, you're more than welcome to make your own topic.

I enjoy using ~~

Rutger ~ His strength is okay for use. He's got high skill and speed. Lower avoid due to low luck, but with a support from Clarine... <3  That, and he just loves me.

Clarine ~ Low magic is usually a turn-off for me, but she's my favourite Troubadour/Valkyrie/(Mage Knight) esque character. She's got high speed and luck, and good skill and res. With Rutger and Klein supports (fast, which is important in FE6), Clarine is really untouchable.

Sue ~ She's the type of serene character I like. Not overly righteous like Lucius (but somehow I still like him more...), but still clear headed. She's not a bad character either.

Lyrina ~ Not so fond of her Sage sprite, and I think her FE7 cameo face sprite is cuter, but I like people who deal lots of damage, can hit (<3  anima accuracy), and can double most enemes.

Sofia ~ The Shaman sprite makes my eyes go *-*  I think with Dark magic she's even more difficult in terms of usage, but she's so pretty. Granted I'd be a little shocked if I were a character in the game and saw a shaman that was all purple and that slender girl, but... Or maybe I just like dragons.

Thany ~ Although she's too happy for me, I always liked using her. Her high speed and luck completely offsets her low defenses and hp; I mean, who cares if you're never hit? A little bit of investment in her has always eased me in later chapters. Her early joining time also means she S-ranks both Swords and Lances (granted, I never use Durandal or Malte anyway... and there's no critical bonus). After playing FE7, though, I find myself a little bit annoyed that she has lower Strength than even Fiora.

Klein ~ The beautiful prince of a pedigree background: 'nuff said. He's also not terrible. Easy enough to bring up with supports from Clarine and Tate, and with the bounty of dragon knights everywhere. And mages that lack defense.

Miledy ~ Well, we all know that both she and her brother turn out quite good. In the beginning, I prefer using Miledy over Zais because Zais can easily have shaky speed and not pick up, thus making Miledy a little easier to train. Though by the time you get Miledy, I would prefer a unit who could already double...

Alan ~ I used to prefer Lance until his fluorescent green scheme finally became too much for me to bear. Though Alan is strength oriented, he (and Lance), as with Sain, gets enough skill and speed. His supports are also fast and useful: Lance, Roy, Tate, Wolt (eh... he's okay)... and unfortunately Marcus.

Fa ~ I like the idea of that round soft feathery dragon thing owning enemies. It's kind of novel.

I enjoy all the really good folk - Lance, Alan, Clarine, Rutger, Percival, etc. I think those will be repeated about every single post, so I don't see the need to do it here.

Lalum is absolutely amazing, just like any dancer. Copying another unit of your choice and gaining EXP in the meantime is just great. More movement, more EXP, more offense or defense, however you want to turn it. And her avoid is stellar as well.

Echidna. I and many others never saw her true potential until every unit was analyzed more thoroughly. Her stats rival NM Percival's, and do quite fine in Hard Mode. Her basic defense stat may be terrible, but with supports from Lalum and Gonzales, +25 avo and +5 def make her very durable. She is able to use various swords and axes off the bat (allowing for full weapon control, boosting her power/crit and having 1-2 range, among others), doesn't require a promotion item and needs hardly any EXP at all, so she's low maintenance with high output.

I like Lot's way to go. Not as much as the FE7 Warriors, but I like the class in general. Able to hit with the Mt*3 modifier on various common enemies (Paladins, Wyverns, Pegasi, General) although with shaky accuracy, amazing mid and lategame durability and fits into your basic support chain easily with his possibilities of supporting Lance and Dieck.

Ray probably picked the best game to be a Shaman. Flux weighs him down by 1 as expected (carbon copy of Canas in that aspect, even though Ray's con and Flux' weight are both lower), but Nosferatu is only 1 heavier than that. Combined with the ability to buy the tomes in the desert chapter (the same map you get the Silver Card in) and his amazing Mag, he can be quite a lasting force with it. His stats and supports roll together nicely, he gets staves and he has his own weapon for the last 3 maps to OHKO Mamkutes and about anything else.

Fir is a Swordmaster. That makes her damn good. Her base Str in HM is there when she needs it, and when it starts to lag she likely built up that infamous RNG proof Crt Swordmasters are so famous for. She supports Shin, who may be a Bow user and may take you to Sacae but is considered good either way, and Rutger if he has a free slot and you have some time to burn. No real means of 1-2 range hurts a bit, but you gotta give some.

Percival, Allan, Lance, Rutgar, Dieck, Lugh, Ray, Miledy, Zeiss, and finally Shin.

Percival because he's a strong mount, Alan and Lance because they're the only characters I use consistently from chapter to chapter, seeing as they're there from 1 to 25 usability wise.

Dieck and Zeiss are my favorite characters in the game; Dieck because he has my favorite class and I find him cool, and Zeiss because he's one of my favorite classes and also looks cool.  Zeiss may not be that great but I really like using him.  His HM boosts are amazing too.

Rutgar because he's easy to use, and Lugh because he's the only Mage I enjoy using aside from Ray, due to high speed and decent stats everywhere else that matters.  And Ray I like for the reasons stated by Mekkah.

Miledy is sorta hot imo and she's a great unit, and Shin because I actually want to use Miurgre and don't really care if I get to the Sacae chapters since I don't tend to do HM ranked or really overall care.

Just 10 units is a bit limiting too, because I also enjoy Clarine, Echidna, Klein, Igrene, Sue, and Fir

Roy: We HAVE to pick him.  ;  He's ok and he's not definitely bad to look at at least.

Clarine:  I love troubadours and her personality is adorable.

Klein:  He's a hottie.  Plus, Clarine needs her brother on the battlefield with her.

Thany:  She's cute and reminds me of Sailor Mercury from Sailor Moon.  ^___^;

Tate:  Klein x Tate is my fav canon pairing (Klein x Roy is my first fav >:d).

Yuno:  She's not that great but I need her for the pegasus triangle attack.  D;

Dieck:  I just like him for some reason.  He's kind of cute... in a tough biker guy sort of way.  Its eithe rhim or Rutger, but not both.

Fir:  She's really good.  And she's Karla's daughter (who's wayy better than her)

Lilina:  I need a mage... and she's really good.

Rei:  I love him!  He has that cute little boy who's planning to take over the world look on his face.

10, eh...

Rutger: He just slices through enemies with his very high critical hit rate.  Since he uses swords, he has a bit more variety than other "weapon specialists", as he can destroy Dragons and Armors with ease, use the Wo Dao for an insane critical rate, and IMO the Durandal is one of the better legendaries, even if it weighs him down a tad.  His supports are pretty good, may it be with Clarine, Dieck, Fir or even Karel and Dayan.

Gonzales: Berserkers are always a fun unit to have as they can destroy nearly everything with a critical.  This guy is no exception.  I enjoy the high strength/speed combo a lot, even if it means bad stats in a few other areas ( namely resistance and skill for him ).

Rei: Probably the best dark magic user, tied with Pelleas, only because dark magic doesn't weigh a ton.  His low Con as a Shaman is fixed with that early Body Ring, too, so he can use his decent speed even better.  I also really enjoy using him in a triangle with his brother and Hugh.

Hugh: Weird mage that focuses on HP and defense, which isn't too bad actually.  He's pretty quick and does good damage too.  He does needs a bit of babying early on, but 16x is nearly perfect for that, especially since he can cover one side while Zeiss covers the other.

Shin: Well, I'm always picking a bow unit, and therefore, I use him.  He's solid as a Nomad with great offensive stats, and his defensive ability can help his problems there.  I usually pair him with Zeiss.

Zeiss: He pretty much becomes my defensive unit of choice once he promotes.  The Armors in this game are decent early on, but later on you get great, mobile walls like Percival and the Dragonknights.  A bit of training before the Bern chapters and you'll have a solid unit in no time.

Percival: Great stats, no promotion item requied ( although it's only a Knight Crest, which I don't end up using often ) and a nice palette.  What'S not to like about him?

Dieck: Aside from Gonzo, I don't like many axe users in this game, so basically he becomes a primary axe user after promotion, and he does a great job at it.  He also supports with a bunch of great units, namely Clarine and Rutger, to add to his usefulness.

Lugh: The early mage.  Does a fine job at it too.  He's quick and while his magic is a tad low, it's not like he needs it that much, especially with a Fire affinity.  Give him Chad, Rei, or Hugh as supports, a few Thunder tomes and a healing staff, and he's ready to go.

Clarine: She's a good healer ( albeit she might need Mend to do the job right ), and she dodges so much it makes her HP and Defense nearly irrelevant.  Excellent supports, and a fun character in general.

Fa-She kicks with the Fire Dragon Stone (Obtained by thief glitches), and that with the Fire Dragon Stone, she just may be the best character in the game.

Miledy-Royal Knight of Bern that swears her loyality to ZGuinevere and that she also resembles Minerva, erm she is her ansestor.

Lilina-Childhood Friend of Roy and that with capping averagely in Mag Def and Mag, she will become the best healer in the game by building up her Rod level to B and that she has a wide list of supporting options than any other character other than Roy and that in general, she is the best Magician in the game.

Oujay-Yes, I would recommend using him over Dieck(Deke) as he will gorw alot more speed and luck thaan him.

Wendy-I like using her as she is a challenge to train and that her defense gets okay upon promotion.

Clairine-Yes, I love Clairine, not only does she possess beauty that is of royality being born from a very beautiful mother, but also she will excel at alot more Speed and Luck than any other Magic user making her the second best magician in the game.

Lalum-She is a great unit to use for distracting enemies as getting her to LV20 she has probably the best avoid in the game.

Cath-I like using her as she is probably my second most favorite character in the game as she is probably the greatest jewheist thief in history and that she is just fun to use.

Sophia-A dark wizard from Arcadia and that she is a close friend of Fa. I like supporting her with Fa and that by rasing her, she will become a tank at Mag Defending, but so will every other mage, but however supporting her with Fa is bestest as her critical will shoot through the roof upon B or A support.

Yuuno-Even though that she suks, but i like using her as she is a very beautiful Pegasus soldier and that Zealot is lucky to have such a beautiful wife, but however I cannot say anything good about her as she is worse than Dayan.

I pretty much use the following in every playthrough.

Clarine, the most useful healer in the game with her superior movement and dodging ability. She might not get as high Magic but you shouldn't really be in that kind of position to need that much on a healer.

Rutger, usual Swordmaster with superior stats. What monster HP he has for the class.

Dieck, the best Hero, can really take the hits. Plus he has a suave look about him.

Rei, probably the most reliable dark magic user in the GBA series. Decently fast and strong.

Fa, doy, she's a cute feathery dragon girl. Why wouldn't you?

Echidna, because a woman that looks like she could kick your arse at any moment gets my vote. Of course, it was already mentioned she's a pretty darn good pre-promote. She about always ends up with the Armads.

Niime, in my opinion, is a great ranged staff user, with her starting 21 Magic. When you've got an extra slot, she's your secondary staffer for sure. Even if she is like over 9000 years old.

Percival, quite the overpowered Paladin. He gets amazing stats for only being level 5. Unfortunately by the time I get him I usually don't have room for my team, but he's a solid.

Miledy and Zeiss, two amazing Dragon Knights. They're even more amazing in Hard mode, I've even had Zeiss start with 20 Strength when I recruited him.

Roy: Seeing as I don't have a choice <_<

Fa: I don't really like her since she only has 30 use of the Divine Stone, but I have to use her though.

Lilina: She's really awesome since she's always able to maxed out Mag in every playthroughs.

Ray: Since he's pretty much the strongest Druid that I find in this game. Not to mention Sophia is a pain to train in CHPT. 14's desert map. And Niime, shes not that great either.

Shin: Because I always like Nomadic Troopers. Plus he get a HM Bonus as well.

Oujay: Better dodger than Dieck IMHO.

Fir: Same as Oujay, I always found her to be a better dodger than Rutger.

Percival: Pretty much the best Pre-promote you can get in this game. Not to mention I like his character as well.

Gonzale: He's really good as a Berserker. Especially with the HM bonus. I also need him to carry Armads.

Zeiss: I always found him to be the best Wyvern Lord in this game next to Miledy, and he comes with a HM bonus as well.

Ray, Hugh, Sophia, Miledy, Zephiel, Narshen, Gale, Murdoc, Dieck, Klein

Ray ~ He's a Shaman.  I've got an over-fondness of shamans that's just unexplainable.   I love all dark magic users(bar Niime, because she's a fugly old hag).  Plus, he's twisted and evil, but he still has a soft side.  That, and I dyed my hair green once, for fun, and I sort of looked like him with longer hair.

Hugh ~ Despite his price and stats, he's a pretty solid unit for me, most of the time.  He may have lower res then normal magic users, he's got pretty good def and hp for me a majority of the time.  Plus, he looks like his father somewhat, and I loved Canas(Shaman factor).

Sophia ~ Another shaman, and this ones pretty.  I love her battle sprite as a Shaman more then the one as a druid, and she's difficult to train, which I sort of like.  Plus, she's half dragon.  Can't go wrong there.  And...she's got massively long hair.

Miledy ~ A female wyvren rider that's actually not bad looking(Curse you Viada), and she's not bad in battle either.  Though her brother usually turned out better for me, I usually used her more just because I like her more.

Zephiel ~ Yeah, I know he's a secret character, but he's damn good looking, so he's got to be on here.  He's got his own special weapon, and he can open up a can of whoop ass one just about anything.  And to think...he used to be so nice and sane...Oh well.

Narshen ~ Another secret character, but I love him anyway.  He's got gorgeous hair, great taste in clothes, and a beautiful wyvren, so there's no going wrong with him.  However, the weapon he comes with isn't that great for him, and he's pretty darn weak.  Still, he's fun to use, and funner to watch, because he fails.  Constantly.  Epically.  He's literally on the fail boat.

Gale ~ He's way prettier then any of the other men in this game, in my opinion.  Plus, he's amazing.  He's honorable, kind and skilled.  And he makes Narshen fail.  Constantly.  Plus, he's got prettiful blue hair.  Can't go wrong with blue hair.

Murdoc ~ Pretty much the same as Zephiel.  He's handsome as sin(more so when he was younger) and plus he has a tomahawk, which is one of the only axes I even like.  And Generals look awesome.

Dieck ~ Another handsome guy, wow, this games full of them.  And he's covered in scars, which is always nice.  That, and he's very sweet and nice to his men, and he's got blue hair, though lighter then Gales.

Klein ~ He's as pretty as his father was ( ), if not more.  And I dig snipers almost as much as Shamans (There has never not been a pretty Sniper(Igrene, Klein, Innes, Louise...See the trend?)).  Plus, he's not bad in battle, and his growths aren't that bad, either.

So I'm shallow and go more for looks then skill.  So sue me.
