Chapter 10 and 11

Well, I have a problem with Fred and Olwen again... but this time its recruiting them. The guide says that once Leaf enters the castle, Fred would join, but all he does is become an NPC. I couldn't talk to him to bring him over to my side or anything, so I just decided to complete the chapter. But now, I made it to the gaiden chapter and Fred isn;t in my party and I can't get Olwen. =( What do I do?

Don't worry. Fred immediately joins on Turn 2, ready to free Olwen.(He has her Dime Thunder tome too.)
