Is Chapter 12 Gaiden the only chapter that Lara could turn into a dancer?  o.o;

Yes, and she must be the one to talk to Parn in order to get her promotion. Recruit him with Salem or Rifis and she will not be able to promote since she can't talk to him after them.

And while we're at it, be sure to capture Trewd and don't let him go to recruit him. Parn can talk him into joining, but as soon as you recruit Parn all enemies will flee, so it might be just easier to capture him (stealing his weapon is probably the best way to do so).

Ok thanks so much!  I guess I'll use Olwen next chapter, then.

Try warping Lara to Parn using Saphy.  Then have Parn steal Saphy's Unlock/Thief staves so she doesn't use them ( they're both really nice staves ).  Priorize Unlock, since I don't think she'll use her Thief staff, especially if your own units have good stats.  I'm not sure if Trewd flees, but Parn moves a bit faster than him and can move twice pretty often (25%).

Trewd indeed flees, and will easily get away unless you get really lucky (which not all of us do). That's why I make sure to capture him before recruiting Parn.

I say to steal the Thief staff between the two first, though. If you're using someone like Othin, he might end up losing his Pugi axe (or something else of value) when she uses it on him due to low magic.

If you use this method, I'd say you'd only people with decent magic, as you won't fight.  Tina's magic is only 3 anyway.

3 magic is indeed very little, but it's still enough to steal from a lot of your physical units.

As I said in another topic, don't recruit Pahn until you're done with everything. My favourite method of that chapter is to Warp someone in the middle of everything, capture Trewd, kill random reinforcements and don't harm the dancers at all. This way, there will be 2 dancer reinforcements, one at turn 25 and one at turn 30, with one carrying a Warp staff and the other a Knight Proof.

Sure that is effective, but if you do that, you will waste a Warp Staff use, which should be needed to get all of the treasure here as without the Warp Staff, you have no way to get the treasure.

That is why that it is advised to just bring Iron Weapons as you have nothing of value to lose during the battle.

The Dancers all will flee anyway once that you recruit Pahn, so be sure to steal the extra Warp Staff before driving the enemies away.

Your Prf weapons end up in Tina's inventory anyway, so it's not like you lose them forever.

It still eats up a use from the staff, and it's a pretty useful staff since it takes weapons from any enemy on the map (due to ranged staves having unlimited range). It requires she have decent magic to use it on some enemies, but she's got a decent growth in the stat.

I was responding to the advice to use common weapons rather than prf weapons in the chapter. She is going to spam the Thief staff either way.

Of course, if you can manage to round up a small team of people with more than 3 Mag, that really helps. You would probably need some Holy Water/M Up/Fire Sword to pull it off though.
