I use the arena when I can and use the tower
to train the units that I didn't train before. Then
again I don't worry when using the arena while
VBA exists (save states)

I use the arena strictly for money. Since they don't give you a ranked run, I can abuse all I want without feeling too much pressure.

To use the tower, I use this simple process.
Take it that you have an Amelia lvl 1 recruit.
You give her a whole bunch of Javelins. Enter ToV 1
with 3 units with at least 10 def and NO WEAPONS, Amelia, and a healer.

Move the three units up to the uppermost row of the staircase. This will be your choking point.
Turn the battle animations OFF, then move Amelia right behind the three Wall Units. End your turn,
and watch the multitude of revenants deal little to no damage to the wall units. When it is your turn again,
Send Amelia to throw a Javelin at a monster. It will do some to little damage. Repeat the process and kill the
Entombed boss with a Javelin. Because the boss does not retaliate unless you are right in front of him, he will not attack Amelia.
Sometimes, there will be a bonewalker with a bow, to attack Amelia. This is when the healer comes in.

You can use the same process to train ANYONE that doesn't use a sword.
Axe users can be trained by giving them hand axes for the same case.
Bow users, well, use bows.
Lance users, Javelins.
Magic users, anything they can fight with.

if theres an arena i train my weaker characters, i keep going back for a low wager, and can keep alive and still make money, although the arena seems to hate some characters ... the tower is nice because theres no pressure of having to rescue anyone before a time limit or some event u might screw up haha
