I'm playing through Radiant Dawn for the first time ever, and I've reached chapter 3-2. But when I played through chapter 3-1 my Partners Lethe and Lyre ended up killing themselves. But their death-quotes just said they were pulling back.
Now I wonder, cause I have a save file from that chapter still but I've moved on to 3-2 on another. So I just wanna know if Lethe and Lyre are now gone, or they meet up right as rain later on.

They'll join like normal. Believe me, I've probably let one or both of them die every playthrough.

They'll meet up with you again. Units in this game don't seem to die unless defeated while they're blue (i.e. under your control).

And even then they may simply be "severely wounded". Why are the only wounded sometimes? I accidentally got Leanne killed on the bridge chapter, and the end credits said "severely wounded". Same with Lucia dying in the level where you finally get Valtome.

I think more end up being severely wounded because there are more characters important to the storyline in this game than there have been before.

I'm guessing that it's simply cannon that she survives because ... well ... otherwise it'd be very very sad for Elincia and Geoffrey?
So yeah, I can't find a good reason for that one.

Three words: Part 2 Endgame.
Besides, she's one of the aides to Crimea and Elincia's side, and lord knows how much they stress that in Part 2.

Yes, fine, but she didn't die until 4-2 (or whichever level that is in part 4 with Elincia's team. Naesala made that a blast, minus the bastards with crossbows...). She's certainly plot-important for part 2 Endgame, but afterwards? Seems kinda weird...

I think they just didn't want to make different versions of the farewell conversation Ike have with some characters in the end of the game. I think Lucia was on it?

Lucia will take alot of growing to get any good as she grows less strength than any other sword user, but she will end up capping in Mag Def. You can also distribute Bonus EXP to fix her weakspots afterwards.
