Favorites are.....

Axe-Armads
Lance-Hero Lance
Sword-Hero Sword
Bow-Hero Bow
Light-Aura
Anima-Excalibur
Dark-Stone

Armads-It has the best battle animation out of all of the axes that I have ever seen.

Hero Lance-Because it has a long history with Finn having it as a keepsake to help him remember his best friend Cuan and that you can attack up to 4 times a turn with it.

Hero Bow-Attacking 4 times with marksman=Pwnage!

Hero Sword-With Shooting Star skill/Patra skill, you can attack up to 20 times a turn, no boss or enemy will survive this.

Aura-It has the greatest animation out of all of the light tomes and it adds 20 crit at your disposal.

Excalibur-It adds 10 crit and that seeing a bunch of razor wind blades is definitely the best.

Stone-Because it attacks Fenrir style and that it turns whoever is hit by into a birdbath allowing them to have a 100% chance at getting hit and a higher chance at getting critted! Also, this status cannot be cured with a Restore Staff, just a Cure Staff/Kia Staff.

Sword: Mistoltin.  Critical RAMPAGE!
Lance: Wishblade.  The best lance in the game is also ranged?  What's not to love?
Axe: Armads.  Because it's bigger than I am, and has an awesome crit animation.
Bow: Ichieval.  Barely beats out the Double Bow, because it's shiny.
Staff: Heal.  Because you can't live without it, and every time I think Heal, the next thing that pops into my head is ALWAYS "Calamity Flare!"  (...yeah, I don't get it either.)
Anima: Holsety.  I mean...what the hell...
Light: Thani.  It's the only thing that keeps Micaiah from crashing and burning utterly, at least combat-wise.
Dark: Apocalypse.  The name says it all.

Sword: Sol Katti: You gotta love the critical animation
Axe: Armads: You also gotta love Armad's critical animation
Lance: Vaida's Spear: Who can say no to mad bonuses?
Bow: Meh, don't really have a favourite, but I'd say the Double Bow (FE9) because it has the highest range that makes it unique.
Knife: Haven't played FE10, but since FE9 knives suck, I'd say the SS-ranked one from FE10 (no better options).

Anima (GBA): Forblaze (FE6)
Light: Rexaura
Dark: Balberith, Naglfar (has infinite uses!), Ereshkigal, Apocalypse (yes, I'm a fan of dark magic)
Fire: Rexflame

Sword: Watou ~ for the "hella crits", slightly more bonus than Killing Sword, and better icon than Killing Sword. There are better overall swords even by my standards, but... love the GBA swordmaster animations. But if we include Sol Katti (which wasn't in the JP version of FE7), then I like that more. Fancy animations

Lance: Hero Lance ~ like a much lighter Brave weapon with a luck boost and critical bonus.

Axe: Pugi ~ high crit, low weight, fine damage, ranged, 60 usage. <3

Bow: Miugre ~ Just have to love that speed boost.

Light: FE6 Aureola / FE5 Lightning ~

Dark: Gespenst ~ I don't normally use anything besides Flux/Miiru unless I'm playing on broken characters, but I love this animation. It is hands down gorgeous.

Anima: Air Calibur ~ the blue suits the wind blades more than Excalibur's green. Plus, in FE6, your units tend to be a lot weaker, so a super effective magic book is good against high hp Dragon Masters, especially for anima units whose name is not Lyrina.
--- Runner-up: Fimbulvetr

Staff: Torch ~ No real opinion, so I went with the one I found prettiest.

Fire: FE6 Forblaze
Thunder: FE9 Thoron
Wind: Grafcalibur and Holsety ~ Not just broken tomes. They are THE broken tomes.

Knife: Stiletto

It was in the JP version, but was unused.

Sword:
Ettard (9, 10): Looks better than Ragnell and could be given to someone other than Ike.
Mani Katti (7): Lets a non-Strength-based swordfighter easily defeat armors.
Durandal (7): Lin critical animation.
Eckesachs (6): Critical animation.

Lance:
Zanezphte (10): Ranged.

Axe:
Garm (8): Speed.
Armads (7): Critical animation.

Bow:
Valfleche (10): Short range.

Fire:
Cymbeline (10): Better animation than Rexflame.

Thunder:
Thunder (9): 255% critical. ^^
Rexbolt (9, 10): Is this the only animation that cuts to a scene separate from the battle?

Wind:
Rexcalibur (10): Like Fimbulvetr, but even more awesome-looking.
Fimbulvetr (6, 7): Ice.

Light:
Aureole (6, 7): Best Light magic animation in the series.
Starlight (3): Background and music change.
Creidylled (10): Also looks pretty.
Thany (10): Owns things.

Dark:
Ereshkigal (7): Looks pretty.
Balberith (10): Looks like Ereshkigal in 3D.
Apocalypse (6): Also looks pretty.

Rod:
Reblow: By far the most useful.

I'd rather not conform and sound like a tard and pick non-legendary/holy/divine/personal weapons.

Sword: King's Sword, FE5. Attacks twice like a Hero weapon, as powerful as a Silver Sword, 20 critical, and only 10 weight for all that. And you can't forget that it gives Charisma. To top it off you only need a C rank to use it.
Axe: Not a common class of weapon, mostly too inaccurate for my tastes, I usually get by with the bare bones. I loved getting Master Axes in FE5, though.
Spear: Hero Spears have always been my favourite, not sure why; I suppose I just like how it follows the typical spear stats. Not as strong as the axe, not as accurate as the sword, but just enough so it comes in much handiness.
Bow: Like axes, bows don't get too much attention. Other than the Ichival, I don't think any bow from any FE can top the Hero Bow from FE5.
Staff: Libro staves become a staple when you get around halfway through the FE you're playing. I can't live without them!
Fire: Meteo, cause long range magic is awesome.
Wind: Shaver, they need to bring that back.
Thunder: Tron, having one of the coolest looking animations in FE(in Jugdral, that is).
Light/Dark: Rizziah, having gone both paths, is still one of my favourites, despite all the weight it's got. I couldn't tell you how many ruts I've crawled out of thanks to these tomes.

Watch as I unashamedly include weapons from TRS:YHS ~_~

Axe: Probably FE5 Hero Axe. There really aren't much in the way of especially inspiring axes in FE. Iron Axe is likely coming second for that matter.
Bow: Gatling Bow. 4 consecutive shots is complete win regardless of the weight. Especially against unarmoured Dragons.
Lance: Reginleif'll have to do for this, I seem to miss all the good lances.
Sword: FE5 and TRS1 both have some mighty fine swords. Let's go with the one that brings the user back to life if he dies while it's equipped :] That would be YHS's Dullahan. Ragnell and the SoS are up there with ones from those two games as well, but so late (and the SoS's limited uses ._.).

Staff: They are yet to bring out any especially awesome staffs. I guess Renée's Haja Staff is sufficient for purposes of the topic.
Fire: Sunflame is the fire magic of the gods.
Wind: Um, yeah. Can't really go past Holsety here.
Thunder: Dime Thunder for all your auto-continuing magic needs.
Light: Resire for all your leeching needs.
Dark: Oh Dark Magic why are you so generally lame, even FE5 and TRS1 cannot redeem you. Let's go with Lopt because no-one's said it yet >_>

Breath: Myrrh's.

Swords: FE5 wins the day and since King's Sword was already said i'm left with Fire Sword, Wind Sword (magic swords with stat boosts worth caring about are neat) and the Elite Sword on my list. We'll go with the Elite Sword. Its basically a lighter steel sword but E rank and Elite!

Axes: The forged steel axe with might maxed is handy to have in FE9. Silver Axe might (do remember you can forge these well before you can buy Silver Axes) but more uses (plus cheaper per use IIRC...less hit though).

Lances: I never found lances too aspiring. I guess Iron Lance wins this category...though I'm starting to be more fond of Steel Lances

Bows: I suppose Killer Bow though I usually get by with Iron and Steel.

Fire: Volcannon. I like the name and the ground opening and errupting animation.

Wind: Aircalibur. What is it with Wind Magic being horribly broken? Oh well Bern deserves it for using about 6 million Dragon Knights.

Thunder: Dime Thunder. Will we ever see "brave" magic again?

Light: Due to light magic being usually lame theres not many to choose from. Pretty much Narga (boo cheapness), Thani (I don't own FE10 though ), Aura (the FE1-3 kind) and Resire (FE3-5) are the only spells in running. Resire is a tad broken in FE3 though (the orb that prevents weapons breaking...you can just have a resire user go solo an army...provided they don't get killed in one hit). Aura due to its massive damage (in FE1 and 3 anyway).

Dark: Hell. I really like the sound effects that go with it. Plus its fun when you can beserk a user (Now, how do we land the final hit?).

Sword: Exaccus, it just looks plain badass, enough said.

Lance: Gladius, 100 hit rate, 20 attack power, 4 weight (in FE1), 10 crit (in FE1), can be thrown, doubles EXP you get. It's just nice, plus it looks cool. In addition, it's Camus' weapon who is my favorite character if you didn't already know

Axe: Definitely has to be the devil axe, just because of how amusing it is.

Bow: Partia, not only does it have good stats, but the enemy bursts in to flames when you use it. Plus it looks cool.

Staff: Berserk, it's just funny watching a berserked enemy own their own team.

Fire: Fala Flame I guess, I like the kind of dark look it has compared to other fire magic. Volcannon otherwise.

Thunder: Thor's Hammer, again, it's broken like most FE4 weapons, but it's map graphics have a cool look to them in my opinion, plus it's Ishtar's weapon, who is among my top 5 favorite characters.

Wind: Fimbulwinter(vetr), I like the look of it.

Light: Light magic is generally lame. I'll probably just say Narga since it's an inverted Loputousu. FE3 Aura and Rezziah are OK to.

Dark: Lots of nice ones here, not so much stat wise, but a lot of them look and sound cool... I would say my favorite would probably be... Loputousu, mostly because I like that screaming noise it makes (It never plays right on emulators, it only does it correctly on the cart for whatever reason, on the emulator it sounds sort of messed up). And it graphically looks kind of cool. (And it has a nice effect for good measure)

Sword: FE10 Vague Katti
Axe: Urvan (If Greil gave up Ragnell for this, it has to be awesome-yes, I know he HAD to, but that's besides the point...)
Lance: Flame Lance (Burn!  Flame Lance!- Genis Sage) >_>
Bow: Silencer (since Shinon is badass)
Staff: Tie between Matrona and Hammerne (mostly on usage and not on looks)
Knife: FE10 Stiletto(sp?)

Anima(Generally): FE7-8 Thunder
Fire: Fire (I typically don't use much Fire magic to begin with...)
Thunder: FE10 Thoron (Faster animation and a more zoomed-out camera than FE9 makes it look cooler)
Wind: FE10 Wind (Something about it is just cool)
Light: Valaura
Dark: Flux

==Lesse:

Axe-Armads, I suppose. I suppose Garm was pretty cool, too.

Lance- The Uber Spear. The stat increases are quite nice.

Sword- Durandal or the Sword of Seals. They both have an awesome design, but it's hard to decide between the two.

Bow- The Myugre, though I tend to abstain from even having one bow user in most of my games.

Light- Luce. The animation just looks awesome.

Anima- Not sure, really. I like Fimbulvetr, both for the animation and reference to Norse mythology. But I do also like Forblaze and Excalibur.

Dark- Erishkigal and Apocalypse are by far my favorites.

Bear in mind that all choices are based almost solely off appearance and flavour text.

Sword: Regal Blade - Non-magical but still powerful, which is more interesting than your standard "MAGIK SWORD YES".
Lance: Rex Hasta - Latin name is awesome.
Axe: Brave Axe - Looks the most unusual of the axes, and allows for four attacks.
Bow: Lugnasadh - Good name, decent bow, nice to see character-locked weapons for people other than lords.

Anima: Excalibur - Awesome name, awesome animation, wind magic in general is awesome.
Dark: Gespenst, All FE10 Dark Magic - Generally brilliant animations, very sinister and evil-looking.
Light: Ivaldi - Good animation. Extremely destructive-looking.
Staff: Silence's animation is cool, what with the pyramid and the time-freezing effect it gives off.

Axe: Armads, for the critical.
Lance: Killer Lance. Just wading through the enemy criticaling is too fun.
Sword: Rapier. I'd have gone with Durandal, but I love Eliwood's unpromoted critical too much.
Bow: Killer bow, Don't use bows that often, so anybody that can use them tend to get loaded down with these and Silver bows

Anima: Excalibur... Pretty obvious why I like it, right?
Light: Lightning. Simple, clean, and for when you use it, effective.
Dark: Flux: So very creepy it can't be a bad thing
Staff: Warp, or whatever the teleporting staff is. I just love planing my tank in the middle of the enemy.

Axe - Never liked axes much; probably Hector's starter axe in FE7

Sword - Light Sword (FE5) - It's the primary reason i like Leaf.

Bow - Silver Bow (FE4+5) - Good memories with archers, my favorite class

Lance - Reginleif  - Ephraim kicks rear with it, seeming to have no problem even vs. axes. i like this better than its upgrade b/c you get its upgrade too late in the game IMO.

Light - Lightning (FE8) - Nice sound effects and animation, lightest of Light tomes (IIRC), low weapon skill level required to use it, but still good accuracy and power

Anima - Excalibur - same reasons as the first post in this topic

Fire - Volcannon (FE5) - It looks like a meteor.

Thunder - Torron - Nice animation

Staff - Valkyrie - The ability to revive a character is the best, especially if you 'shark it.

Wind - Grafcalibur (FE5) - It's the trump card of my favorite character, Asvel. Generally a single-round KO to any axe, sword, bow, or lance wielding boss

Dark - Evil Eye / Crimson Eye - The only dark attack animations i don't despise

Other - Dragonstone - Hail Myrrh! ^^
