It's a pretty simple chapter overall, but I'm unsure of what to watch out for. I'm wondering how many civilians come from the bottom. I get most of them but then another comes out and my army is already all on top.

I think it's infinite reinforcements and infinite civilians. So you may as well leave the turn after you capture/kill the boss.

No harm done if a civilian dies?

You just miss out on a Stamina Drink for each civilian that doesn't make it.

There is one civilian for each house within Tahra's walls you visited in the previous chapter, the number being reduced for each house that was destroyed.

This is unlikely since you need to visit all the houses inside Tahra, in chapter 14, in order to unlock 14x.

For an experienced player this doesn't matter much, but for someone who doesn't have much experience with FE5, they'll want as many Stamina Drinks as possible. The fatigue system takes some getting used-to, so first-time players will want as much help as they can get during their first play. After all, how many times did even the most experienced of us have to make our thief sit out during a chest-heavy mission on our first playthrough because we didn't know to make them sit out the previous chapter?

Well, I'm pretty sure that I still got into the chapter when one of the houses were destroyed and I only ended up one less. I noticed that when I needed to change the items the civilians give. Maybe my memory is all foggy.

Hmm, apparently you only need to visit 3 or more of the in-town villages (minus Homeros' one). I was sure I did some testing on the gaiden requirements, but my memory is probably foggier than Pukachi's DX

Personally, I've never had to use any stamina drinks, so I save it for that occasion.

You're looking at it the way an experienced player would. Most first-time FE5 players are used to the GBA games and possibly the Tellius saga, where you only really need to train up one thief.

Thieves are extremely useful in this game, although the stealing of enemy items was brought up. They are also your gold makers (Even steal the shitty weapons and sell them for gold). And with how often you need to move fast in FE5 you may very well have to use 2 at once in some of those indoor chapters.
