Some random observations:

  • The Shooter class has returned
  • Unlockables include Event Recap and Sound Room
  • Fog of War can be enabled for multiplayer battles
  • The commercial is pretty amusing

How the shooters will turn out will be interesting (will they be ranges armors or more ballista-like?). but it's the subtitle that stands out most for me:

Shin Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Ken

It seems even the Japanese can handle just so many syllables...

It's always been "Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Ken" (or at least recently). I don't know where "Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Tsurugi" came from, but it doesn't really matter since Ken and Tsurugi are interchangeable.

As for that, it would seem that all the fan translators defaulted to the "most common" form since there was no gana (from what I've seen) above the Kanji in question.  At least it somewhat explains the use of the word "blade" in the official translation...

Another thing I noticed is at the start of the clip, where the armor gets attacked without countering despite moving to meet his attacker!  I know it's to demonstrate the high defense, but still...

Talking animations seem bad for some reason D:

Yey, there are custom palettes (Kain's promotion)

Something I was hoping they would fix are the animations.  Every attack animation, the weapon slides in front of the enemy being attacked.  At first I was hoping they were just bad snapshots, but damn, it's really not that hard to give layer priority to one sprite to at least cheaply show insertion of a weapon D:

Two weeks or something until release.

At least they're bringing back Shooters. Yay Jake and Beck!

In the characters' status pages, there weren't any affinities. I really hope there's a second page to those screens...

I'm more interested in the spell Marich was using- it resembled the epic and highly gfxlicious animation of starlight (the background changed as well), yet the HP counts for Marich and the enemy suggest that it's Excalibur instead. *Head frazzles*

All that's even remotely needed know is the return of Gato.

Pretty awesome job on the battle animations. Definitely a step up from the GBA games.

Same here. Best part of the video. <3

In one screenshot, a Cavalier is shown in an inside map still mounted. Sadly, I doubt Dismount is returning.

Sadly?  More like gladly.  If there's no dismounting, you won't have to dismount to use swords and you'd have higher move inside.  Assuming the -2 to movement (for Mounted units indoors) from FE10 won't see a comeback here.

Along with the fact that the video depicts a Social Knight stabbing an enemy with sword whilst mounted, it'd be a wonder at all for a reason to dismount.

That would be "Together we ride".

It was called "Encounter theme" in FE3, although I'm guessing they'll give it a better name (like "With Mila's Divine Blessing" from FE2).

Already, I'm impressed with the visuals. I was half-thinking that IS would steal the animation styles TRS used, but thankfully, it looks a lot smoother, with GBA and Tellius saga sounds as well.

As a spriter, this pleases me to no end.
