First things first the Shrike blunder i'm refering to is a piece of dialogue and it is beleived to be (one of many) locaisation issues of characters having the wrong (or contradictory titles).
Quote from: Serenes Forest
Mixed up titles

In Chapter 19xx Teodor introduces himself as the "Shrike", but his Help description calls him the "Shadow Hawk". The latter is his proper title, while "Shrike" belongs to Kenneth. Linus is referred to as the "Mad Dog" in dialogue, but his Help description calls him the "Rabid Hound"- both are legitimate translations of his Japanese title. Finally(?) in Chapter 15: Talons Alight, Eliwood states Eubans' nickname as "Hurricane", which is exactly the same as Legault's title. Eubans' original title was "Fierce Eagle", which fits in well with the chapter name.

Now remember those prototypes from a few months ago? Time to blow the dust off. First look at 19XX (18HX)...where is Tedor?

The answer to that is chapter 25:

This is the bit that made me think, what if this isn't a localisation blunder but an original one. Let me explain. Seeing Tedor in place of Kenneth in Chatper 25 implies they swapped places to their present positions sometime in development. What if a tiny piece of Dialogue didn't reflect this? In this case thier titles.

It seems interesting and warrents some reserch (looking at the final Japanese release to see if the script blunder is there) but even if its a blunder introduced by NOA it sure is one bizarre coincidence (or a case of NOA translating the game during Japanese development, after all this was the Fire Emblem designed to sell to the Americas)

I actually looked into all the title inconsistencies in the Japanese version, and they're all correct there (i.e Teodor always calls himself the "Shadow Hawk").

Drat, so it was just a bizarre coincidence.

Its just like they say, just becuase there are two similar facts doesn't automatically mean they correlate.
