I know I can't do any better but I really do not like the artwork! The artist made Oguma look really bad... he looks like an old man or something. I hope they don't mess up Kashim. D:

Kashim won't look dorky. And that shouldn't be good. Personally, I think it's as bad as Seisen's official art

I honestly don't mind the art that much ^^; ...Except for Marich; I don't like the hat, at all.

I think it looks alright. Personally, I'd rather see some more (and larger) artwork before I make any judgements.
However I do like the colouring, although it looks almost too shiny.

Nabarl looks like a generic Myrmidon, and almost everyone in the artwork looks like they're going to stab the player to death. Unlike the other art, I can't really see the characters' personalities, as they all look either ticked off or an utter idiot. *Looks at Marth and Oguma* Also, why does Marth wear pants? Now, the in-game face sprites, those are pretty good.

I prefer FE7's art, but this style isn't so bad. The only characters I don't like are Oguma and Maric. Oguma reminds me of a hairless ape and Maric's outfit looks ridiculous. But then again, I've never liked Maric's outfit, so.... Out of all the art we've seen, I'd say Linda looks better than everyone else.

I don't see what's wrong with Oguma's new art. I don't like it as much as the older TCG art, but I don't think there's anything wrong with him looking a bit grittier either.

As I said in the other topic, I think it's too harsh, stark, forbidding...shadowy. The face shadows really put me off. Thus why Linda's is the best; she has the least "OMG EMO FACE OF SHADOWY DARKNESS". Or, in other words, she looks most like the artworks from 7-10.
And 7's is still the best, followed by 9/10.

The artwork isn't god-awful, but it's not exactly superb in comparison to some of the other artwork that's been released. Like VASM, I'm not going to completely judge it until we see more OA or other sources of art for the game(if they put out an artbook(which I doubt) or something along those veins). I have more of a problem with the face "models" and battle "models" (I refuse to call them sprites, since they don't look the part at all), than the artwork, though. IS is trying to give off a 3D appearance to the "models," and it frankly makes them look worse. They're trying to fit too much detail and shading into such a small space(more a problem for the battle graphics than the face graphics), and it (at least for me) ends up detracting from the quality, rather than improving it. That said though, the fluidity of the battle animations and spell animations is MUCH better than it's been thus far, especially looking at the handhelds.
(Eh, the "models" aren't completely "artwork," but they're close enough for discussion purposes.)

Amusingly, myself and everyone I know absolutely loves the new art style (and yes, they've seen the FE9/10 art). The only complaints I've seen about it are coming from here, and almost all of them are just because it's different from before...

I prefer Oguma's old look to his new one, but everyone else looks pretty good.
I actually really like the face and battle sprites/"models." It's vaguely reminiscent of how Odin Sphere handled its sprites, and that's one of the most aesthetically pleasing games I've played (if you ignore the slowdown). So I'm looking forward to it.

These pre-renders are a lot better than what I saw when I played Sqaureenix's ASH, at least. These actually flow together well.

Also, why does Marth wear pants?
This is why... Those boots...doesn't Linda have them now?Its all in updating the character and not making them soom old fashoin or weird. I can't remember the first Marth to wear pants but I have a feeling it was Super Smash Bros Melee so I guess that was the first Character update (Sakurai talked about it in a lecture about and how they had to update Pit). Now, the in-game face sprites, those are pretty good.
If they are what I think they are I have high hopes for their animation. It would be nice to see the face sprites breathing becoming more alive and if its animation pre-rendered stuff it doesn't take much effort*. FE7 introducing blinking and FE introducing mouth movement (at least I think it did) were the last big step ups. It would be a bit strange if the portraits didn't breathe while the battle animations do. *-Sprtinig portraits that move and breathe...let alone 60 of them would be a big effort but with CGI its more worrying about the composition once you've got the model down.

On the topic of the mugshots, they really don't look too great to me either. Everything's so detailed and then the mouth look as if it's just an 8x8 tile of movement. Very rigid, at least, and seems taped on at the last minute.

Nope. I don't like the style. Nearly all Characters I've seen so far look somehow strange... Imo the AWs don't catch their character very well. Or at least I had some other postures and facial expressions in mind, so far... Imo it's a serious step backwards, especially when compared to the awsome Artworks of FE9/10. But oh well. I'll have to live with that.
And yes, the new Face sprites look kinda... lifeless. I guess, it'll be hard to display emotions with them, but i'll have too play the game in a language I actually can read fluently first, before judging them.

Face sprites never showed much emotion to begin with. Unless you count the mouth twitching slightly upward in a vague sort of smile as emotion. =/

I can understand if you think it's a step in the wrong direction, but how can it be a step backwards? It's not as low-quality as the official art for the NES or SNES games...
