also, i was pretty surprised that the map could focus in so far in the area where the military bases are over here. all the google earth programs i had used so far never zoomed in far enough for one to see them as closely, which i had assumed was because of security precautions...

Isn't that kind of... against the law? (Taking media footage of military bases without permission)

Those pictures you see of military bases are inaccurate. Or, if they are, they're illegal, yes. My dad reported Google once already for having (a sort of old one, but still--how often do buildings move?) pictures of the base he worked at.

If you go over Area 51 it's censored. The top of the White House is as well.
I just noticed that the map is a Mercator projection, so it's not to scale vertically (Africa = Greenland?). I guess the farther you live from the equator, the bigger your house looks (sorry BloodySakura  ).

My building is easily seen. It's a bit sad though, what with me all alone over there. I mean, it's already boring to begin with D:

YOU MAY NOW THE BUILDING, BUT YOU'LL NEVER KNOW WHICH APARTMENT, AHARHARHARHAR.

Ouch. Such unfairness to the tropical dwellers. (That might explain the size of the rathole where I live though)

I don't know if Crystal can delete markers on the map, since she created it and all, but there's still a Chuthlu at northern Russia.

Haha, yes, I can. I've cut down on watching it though, so I don't always get them right away.

There are lots of censored areas. Blurred out, replaced with what looks like the surrounding terrain, and even a couple simple black rectangles applied directly onto the picture. Most are just NATO military bases that people want to hide the layout of, though there are some exceptions (like the White House, and Dick Cheney's house.)

The real important military bases and missile silos, though, are already so well disguised that Google doesn't need to censor them, and can't be located by looking for splotches on the image.

Well, now that Marescio's a member I can actually say I have, . I see him several times a year, whenever I go over to his place. Our fathers were friends from college, so through some magical coincidence we became friends as well.

And that is the story of our lives. Not drama material, I'm afraid.
