The Touch-DS site (Japanese) has updated with a second commercial for the game (which only differs very slightly from the first), as well as a five page interview with some of the game staff. The interview also contains a few short movies, which demonstrate discussed concepts. The more interesting details are as follows: - Class Swap can only be used from Chapter 4.
- The "Rental" units that can be used in multiplayer mode are actually units borrowed from another Fire Emblem DS player. As long as both players have the same character, they may send a copy of that character to the other player.

The borrowing part sounds strange, to me I'll assume it's meant Class Swap is available from Chapter 4 and onwards, rather than just Chapter 4. If it was only for that chapter, you could screw yourself up later with the required class rosters. Speaking of which, did we already find out how many classes are available to swap into, or are certain types of units granted certain types of positions? I remember seeing in one of the limited class rosters, only one Dark Mage was allowed, but you shouldn't have more than one unless other units were allowed to also be come one, right? Assuming the new guy is the only one you have. Actually, that roster only showed icons for weapons. At a stretch, I suppose the limit could be not on the classes, but on what weapons are usable. I think this because Sages/Bishops should be able to use both spells and staves this time around, I'd assume--I wonder if they'd fall under their original class's weapon uses (Social Knight already breaks this with their sword and lance wielding) or something else altogether

Yeah, it's for Chapter 4 and onwards.
The Class Swap icons are for different class groups, and not weapon groups. The icons are in order: Pegasus Knight, Cavalier, Knight, Archer, Mercenary, Myrmidon, Fighter, Hunter, Pirate, Dark Mage, Mage, Priest/Cleric (12 if I got it right).

Does this mean we can get male pegasus riders and female pirates/fighters for the first time in the series?

I recall one of the pegasus knights mentioning something like that in one of the later titles, but that logic doesn't apply to FE1/3. Enemy pegasus knights were clearly male in FE3. =/

I refuse to believe that the guy in the center is Camus! The arts are fine in my opinion, but perhaps too different from the originals? (Chiki looks older than her FE1/3 appearance, Camus is unrecognizable and Garnef looks kind of...dead ).

That scan just reminds me completely of Castlevania.
Good thing the art never has resemblance to their mugshots.

I'm wondering what Sakurai has to to with this game, that somehow qualifies him to do this interview. He's not even at Nintendo anymore...

I'm disappointed, as none of this official artwork looks anything like the older versions.

Missed a tidbit from the interview. Thanks to Yuugure for pointing this out : o * You lose a character in the Prologue chapter, as they disguise themselves as Marth to lure the enemy away (you can choose which character, and you can even choose Jeigan). Apparently you never get the character back again. Also, Freyr's stats

Forcing you to sacrifice a character? That's...very bizarre, and basically redefines the whole "playing without losing any characters" thing. I honestly think it's a stupid idea. Then again, if you can use the Ohm staff on them, at least you can maintain 100% survival.
And yes, Jeigan's head is going on the chopping block, since I have no intention of using him anyway.
