Edward fans are guaranteed playing on Easy. On Hard, there is NO way that you can train him well. With no weapon triangle, he'll get hit at 70-90% from axes, and will constantly die. If you want to go through the frustrating experience of training him, when you can have Zihark who is already a Swordmaster, has a much better affinity, can better abuse B-Exp, is available in Part 3, and turns out the same, then go ahead.

For all intents and purposes, Zihark would probably be High Tier (along with Mia).
I'm tempted to say Edward would be Garbage tier, but I guess I can see him in Low Tier.

It wasn't THAT hard (fuck it WAS until level 10) but afterwards it gets smoother still Mia is a better choice in the long run. Still I feel like discussing as if we were in hard mode would be unfair since most of our members haven't gone through it.

Actually, I managed to get him as my first promoted unit thanks to the Dracoshield; it helps speed up chapter 1 by allowing him to take three hits instead of two, and as a result he gets the level ups he needs to help your army survive later.  Zihark has ease of use, though.
