So I've been watching the Olympics a lot of this weekend. I'm not sure I could pick out a lot of specific highlight events as I've seen a lot of what's gone on, but I'm annoyed I missed the supposedly godly 4x100 USA recovery. I tuned in just in time to see Phelps scream his head off in slow-mo 30 times. ._.

My dad went to the website specifically to show me that event. The only really amusing part was the look on the Frenchmen's faces, although the fact that at least three swimmers were ahead of the World Record line was pretty amazing.

It ended up being the top 5 beat the old WR, iirc.  I ended up awake at like 1am and watching the 4x100 relay, and it was hilarious.  Seriously, until like the last 5-10m, I figured French dude was going to barely win it, but all of a sudden, he just lost, lol...

That's why you shouldn't talk crap and make guarantees before the race even happens, lol.

We got owned in the uneven bars T-T  Um... well, I guess we can still say our team looks prettier than China's

I was really pleased that in the 4x100 relay we beat France. Alain what's-his-face really made me want to take him out with that comment about "coming here to smash the Americans". We do red-white-and-blue better

They're French. They're used to folding in critical moments.

Seeing France lose the 4x100 relay after basically talking shit about the States was definitely a personal highlight of this year's Olympics. That's what we call karma.

I watched the 4x100 online today. Even without the trash talking before, that was an absolutely amazing race.

Meanwhile, Phelps has been making the other swimmers look like shit allllll night long. And this guy's career is far from over.

The gymnastics tonight is pretty good too. The perfection of the USA team is amazing...and China is doing BETTER. Good shit.

I caught a bit of the synchronized diving earlier. Man that is some impressive shit, as anti-climactic as it is.

Anyone else catch the game between China and Spain? That was pretty fucking intense basketball.

Greco-Roman wrestling is currently up. It's going pretty well, although I typically chear for the non-US countries.

It's been surprisingly fun (imo, anyway) so far. The 4X100 relay was just awesome to watch (even if it was tape delayed because I'm in California right now) and the Latvia vs. US beach volleyball match was downright hilarious.

Mad? That's a little strong. I could understand if the judges were being unfair or biased, but the Chinese team won that one handily, fair and square.

I think it's mostly the penalties we're taking, since hands down, Nastia Liukin dances her part.

Exactly.  When China had taken the fall on the beam, that opened up the door for the US to take the lead and then we started making too many costly errors.

That Women's Gymnastics final was painful to watch. Sacremone just completely choked and all three Americans stepped out on the floor routine to add insult to injury.

Women's Individual All-Around Gymnastics

A number of the scores made me go "WTF", but...
Nastia got the Gold and Shawn edged out the Yilen for the Silver (.075 difference!).
