So I'm curious - did anyone actually get this game? From what I've seen, the gameplay looks like your standard SRPG fare. But the voice acting...I still have trouble believing this is an actual professional job - it sounds like the actors aren't even trying, if indeed that is the actual voice work. Okay, there's the option to switch to Japanese, but still. And making it a Gamestop exclusive boggles the mind - that....really limits circulation, which would keep sales low, no?

With that voice acting... you're implying the sales will be high.

God, I'm not much of a stickler for that sort of thing, but seriously, that is aweful.

FESS, you gave me good times, and I had a lot of fun with you. I didn't get to say this the first time around, but...

This is Shadow of Chaos, or as I'm known now, Furby, FESS' only Coding and Hacking moderator, one of the guys who helped rebuild your main website, saying goodbye, FESS, and thanks for all the fish.

Apparently the guy just got his relatives together--the voice credits in the manual list people with same name.

I don't know much about the game, but I think Mark reviewed it at DHGF; it's the definition of mediocre.

Wow.  That was...horrific.  I don't know if I can even agree with one of the comments on YouTube - that Precis from Star Ocean 2 was worse - because Precis just sounded as if she'd inhaled a few tankers of helium.  Not of marijuana.

All I can say about the voice acting is I hope Hyoma was meant to be a male...

For some reason I can see this game becoming legendary for the awful voice acting kind of like Shikigami no Shiro IIs localisation (Castle Shikigami 2?). Except I'm under the impression that one floats about in bargain bins while somehow due to Gamestop exclusivity this one probably won't

If you think the voice acting in Shikigami 2 is hilarious, check the instruction manual out sometime. It's Zero Wing levels of bad. Hinata and I spent a dinner at Pizzeria UNO one day MST3King it.

I could even scan in that manual for people's viewing pleasure if anyone wants.

And question: has there been any other games that were store exclusives (besides the Burger King games, if those count)?

As I recall, SEGA had a few that were Target exclusives. Also, the DS version of Sim City had a different bonus building you could construct depending on what retailer you bought it from.

Counting Liimited Editions? If that's the case, this gen along with the last one were some EB/GS exclusives. You know, all those games like FF, MGS, etc.

Although I remember also some Blockbuster rental-exclusives like Kartia: Word of Fate for PSX.

There's also Chibi Robo DS, which was a Walmart exclusive.

There's also different bonuses depending on where you bought the game. For example, NASCAR '09 has different codes if you bought it at Walmart (there's so many jokes, so little time...), and there was a Gamestop exclusive bundle with MGS4.

Tales of the Abyss was also a Gamestop exclusive, IIRC... There was only 25,000 copies made. :X

This seems like a really, really niche game for only extreme weeaboos, from what I've heard, so most of them would use JP voices anyways, so they must have not felt the need to give it decent English VA... Although it might have unexpectedly high sales due to the English VA, but I dunno lol. (Most of the people I showed it to were like "I'll buy it just to show my friends how bad the voices are!") >_>

Bullshit. I bought my copy on Amazon, and I've seen it new at GameCrazy a lot.

Holy crap, this stuff is so bad it's funny. Karen and Uru are hilarious on their own.

Also, I'm not sure why there's a dude named Nicole.

I lol'd when the guy put in a hip hop "YAYUH!" at the end.
