And question: has there been any other games that were store exclusives (besides the Burger King games, if those count)?

Not too many store exclusives here in the UK. The only ones I remember are:
-PSO Ep III on the Gamecube was exclusive to GAME
-LEGO Star Wars 2 on the Gamecube (just the Gamecube version) was exclusive to GAME. They proceeded to stock it in none of thier stores which explains the absurd eBay prices it goes for
thank god for the complete saga...Due to the fact GAME now own the only rival in the high street gaming stores; Gamestation its unlikely they have any need to do store exclusives. The only good thing that came out GAME buying out Gamestaiton is Gamestaiton was kept as a seperate brand (unlike when GAME bought out EB*, which lead to quite a few towns having two GAME stores even to this present day and being unable to shut down one**).
Edit: Actually there is one recent exclusive from GAME. Ultimate Board Game Collection for the Wii and PSP...
However they have been a number of content exclusives through GAME. LEGO Indiana Jones came with some password or something and Super Samsh Bros Brawl came with a slipcover.
*-The American arm still continued to exist...and ended up being bought out by Gamestop

**-I beleive it was part of the contract of the buyout, to ensure there wouldn't be mass closures and layoffs
