Well, there are good points in this game that I've noticed which are...
-If you attack an enemy unit that is recruitible, the song will be played whenever that you lose a unit. -The game has a preperations menu. -You can buy weapons/staves at the storage, like you could in FE6. -With any new character that you can recruit, you can get them to talk to certain characters afterwards that normally you couldn't do in the other two versions. -The gold earnings are the same as in the NES game, I'm just getting this gut feeling that the arenas have no exit in this game.
Anything you guys noticed that we should be aware of ahead of time?

- There's a flashing square on units you can talk to. - Oguma/Navarre and Caesar/Raddy thing, 1 is mercenary and 1 is Myrmidon (just something I prefer) - A good amount of chances to save the game So there's a less chance I end up redoing whole chapters... - Lack of copied/recolored portraits (Kain/Abel is just a primary example)
Just a few things off the top of my head, but I'm sure we've mentioned plenty more in the information topic.

Drastically different sprites, in some cases. Earth Dragon is the largest example.
Orbs have been switched around, color-wise.
Not as many unused things, if any.

Well I don't think enemies recruited themselves in the NES verison. I've noticed Poala, Katua, Chainey and Est all start their converstations with Marth in the enemy phase. Don't know if all recruitable enemies do that or not that.

Est may have as well. Didn't want to risk it with Daros, Wendel, and the like though

Daros definitely will recruit himself. The first time he did this for me on the enemy turn another enemy pirate came up and killed him... I think Wendel will talk to Marth by himself as he does try to go towards Marth's position.

Does Marth recruit Wendel though? I would assume he'd head towards Maric myself >.>
Looks like we need to start baiting the recruitables rather than recruiting them x_x

Yeah. Marth recruits Wendel, thats who I used to recruit. I got Wendel in range of Maric once but he went and killed a weakened Abel instead of talking to Maric.

Marth can recruit a few extra enemies that other people used to have to, like Wendel and Ricardo. Speaking of him, Ricardo didn't move or attack.
Mishiel parks himself on the gate instead of charging you. A lot less dangerous now.
Minerva will attack someone if you haven't recruited Maria or Marth isn't in her range, and she sticks around the top-right corner as opposed to waiting just outside your range.
I have a gut feeling that Navarre will talk to Sheeda considering his reasons for joining, but I'm not game to try with that Killing Edge of his.

-For starters, they have shortened the battle in Chapter 17.
-You cannot skip through the dialogue.
-The secret shop in Chapter 17 does not sell Reblow Wands.
-All promotion items have been changed into Master Proofs, which can be used to promote any character.
-You cannot discard Weapons and items.
-Whatever character that you submit to the fort in one of the prologue chapters is gone for good.
-The Harmain Staff has more uses than in the SNES version.
-To get to the gaiden chapters is insane, you have to only be left with 15 characters or less and that you cannot recruit Chiki to get to Chapter 24X gaiden. The question is...do you have your heart set on doing that. I don't.
-You cannot buy unlimited things in certain shops (mostly secret shops). Means that you only can buy up to three of the items in the stores.
-In chapter 23, you can only buy three promotional items.
-Marth and Julian still cannot promote.
-There are different soundtracks in the game in certain chapters, not the same repetitive music in every chapter that you have to mute the effing game.

You can skip dialogue with Start, but not B.
What I like is enemies who will not move have -- instead of how much they can move, and if you highlight them it shows their actual range, not what they could reach if they'd move.
You can also skip battles, healing, and even entire enemy turns by pressing Start.

Also, touching the screen during a battle phase skips it. I find it safer than the Start button, because you can see when one of your character dies.

For those who hadn't noticed, part(s) of the prologue chapters are taken directly from Chapter 17, or so it started to look >.> It kinda sucks now that you don't lug around a broken weapon, as if the need arises, you could patch it up. But at the same time, the staff which repairs has an absurd amount of uses, and there's never really a part of the game where you'd need to save a weapon either

Of course, the Reserve and Reblow Priests that kept healing Garnef were the real problems with it. Edit: Ayanami, you can discard items and weapons. Use 捨てる [suteru].

And turbo through it with Down+A held Its been a feature since FE9...wonder if they'll actually mention it in the manual this time roundthe staff which repairs has an absurd amount of uses
I thought the 7 it had in the SNES verison was a tad much especilly in the game where you really want to repair weapons it only has 5 uises! but 12 is madness.

Maybe it's just me, but I had problems with the uses of Starlight. In the case of Starlight, Excalibur and Thoron (Aura too) do the same amount of damage (I think--I remember thinking why I brought the three spells and I was only using one >.>). As the duplicates can be harmed on the enemy turn, Maric would hit him with Excalibur, and the next finish off with Starlight The Libro and Reserve staves weren't a bother, as I killed the wielders early on.

The first three are the same might, but Thoron also has 10 critical, Excalibur 20, and Aura has a whopping 17 might.
The duplicates can be harmed ANY time. It just appears when you're about to attack that you'll do nothing. I could charge someone with the Gladius up to one, it'll say I'll do nothing and if it's a fake I'll almost OHKO it.
Shooters are very useful for taking out healers. They have crap avoid so by that time in the game Stone can actually hit them.
I tend to use a few uses of the Hammerne on the last chapter where I abuse the hell out of Mercury, etc. But because of how your units are annoyingly split up I can't get to what I want to repair most of the time.
EDIT: I wonder if it has that recap thing from FE9/10 where you can scroll through the last hundred or so lines.

It does, but I forgot how I accessed it. Not that it matters currently, since I can't read it anyway.

I use the Harmain Staff to repair the Reserve staves. You have to repair the 2 Libro staves, as you won't be getting anymore after two, cuz lol I've just found out that no shop sells any.
-Whatever spoils that you get from the enemies after defeating them will be used up the amount of times that the foe has used the weapon on you. Like for example if the enemy used up 2 uses of the Silver Sword before receiving it, you would only get the weapon with only 18 uses instead of the full 20 uses.
-Marth can go beyond Level 20!
