This would be a great topic for one of my friend's to thrive in.

I think the Misfits would fit into this genre (I think, I'm not sure). Sadly that's the only band I know in this particular genre, and I am not an avid fan. However I have listened to a few bands here and there, all of them from a friend, but I have since forgotten their names.

The only other band in this category I actually know is AFI, but you already know them well, so I can't really suggest any other groups.

...The Misfits motherfucking founded Horror Punk.

On the topic, no, Horror Punk is pretty bad in my opinion.

Of course. I could only suspect, not be sure. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Adding to the topic, I found a band named Balzac (just a few minutes ago in fact). Apparently, they are regarded as the Japanese counterpart to the Misfits. Whether you consider them to be good or not depends on your taste for the genre.

Balzac has been supported by the Misfits a lot. They have an EP in which the new Misfits (which suck :sob: ) play a Balzac song and viceversa, iirc.

Right now they say the true successors to the Misfits is Blitzkid. Albeit Gorgeous Frankenstein is conformed by 1/2 of the mid-era Misfits' lineup :X.

Bottom line I just know The Misfits, Balzac, Blitzkid, Gorgeous Frankenstein, Dr. Chud's X-Ward, and Michale Graves (and his many bands). It pretty much goes round and round. I'd like to hear something from new people in the genre lol
