A day late, and a dollar short

I think I'm a couple months short of 4 years

Am I the only one who writes down these exact dates? You know, because they are totally super important?

Well I'm certain last year (2007) I claimed my 1-year anniversary on May 13th. That was exact, but as of now, I can't remember if that was my S7 Invisionfree boards join date or just my Velthomer join date   And due to vacation, there *was* this break between both switches....

It's an expression for being late, and falling short of expectations. Quite fitting for the thread overall, I think.
