so FESS, I might start my third playthrough soon. I like to plan my pairings beforehand, so that I know what I'm doing during the actual chapters, and I've been thinking of the pairing stated in my topic title.

Now, I don't know how reliable a site I've been previously linked to by a contact of mine who plays Fire Emblem is, but here is a link to average level 30 stats for Faval with Beowulf as a father... http://fea.fewiki.net/fea.php?character=favalbeowulf&game=4x

As you can see, 73 HP, 27 str, 27 skl, 25 spd, 20 def and 30 luck. Appealing, to say the least. Patty also seems quite good, but I usually don't use her much anyway. So, anyone tried this out? Does it work out as well as it does on paper? Gogogo, FESS.

I haven't tried it (I'm on another playthrough and I just went with Jamka, because it's awesome) but it seems...intriguing.

The interesting thing is that this is one of the few ways to get Patty Pursuit before promotion (the other obvious one is Midir, who's probably the second-best choice for Brigid) and she'll also cap strength and speed, but without being such an utter pain to train up.  On the other hand, they'll both have ONLY Pursuit (and Steal on Patty, obviously).

Holyn/Briggid it really sexy, by the way.  http://fea.fewiki.net/fea.php?character=favalholyn&game=4x Faval gets pretty jacked.

FavalxBriggid...
The idea never crossed my mind, but it looks pretty amazing.
If the pairing with Finn wasn't that difficult it woud be worth a shot too.
But the main issue, to me, is if you pair her with someone that's not Deu or Holyn you end up losing moonlight or sunlight sword.

Well...a) you can pair them with Aira (Holyn in fact is one of her best choices, and is very easy to make) and then Lakche and Skasaher will get it, b) only Patty will inherit the skill (not that Faval needs it), and c) Solar sword isn't so useful for Patty anyway, given her low damage output and lack of Pursuit.

WOW
I wrote that? I'm so slow these days....

Um... Point taken.
I think it's because the sword skill it's the only thing that always make me spend time on leveling up Patty (and stressing to not get her killed)

BeowulfXBriggid will give pursuit (but they have it any way) and duel. swords pass to Patty.

I rather pair Briggid with Dew as they both have great growths, Bargain for Ichieval abuse and Patty has Solar Hit. add a power ring for Patty and you have quite a powerful unit.
Holyn is also good as Patty will have Lunar and B level sword at the start. give her a Hero sword, berserkable if possible

Oh dear, how did my topic about Beowulf/Briggid get sidetracked into who to generally pair her with? ='( A little more on-topicness perhaps?

And yeah, on my second playthrough I did indeed pair her with Holyn... Pretty good results. Anyhow, I'll probably be starting a New Game very soon, and atm it's looking like I'll either experiment with this or just go Deu/Briggid. Ichival isn't as amazing as some other holy weapons, and Faval is still amazing with a Killer Bow so lack of Bargain has never been a problem for me, and I already mentioned I don't really use Patty much. So tbh Deu/Briggid doesn't doesn't appeal to me that much... Although the fact that this isn't a known pairing probably makes me a lot more interested due to curiosity >_>

Aaagh, I'd forgotten Duel...which is awesome for Faval, if less so for Patty.  And I've never really needed Bargain for any of the holy weapons; the arena usually nets enough cash to keep them repaired.  And Ichieval is pretty good for the +10 strength alone, which makes it a 40 damage weapon, and the speed boost negates its own weight.  Also, I tend to leave the Killer Bow with Lester; I prefer it to the Hero Bow in many cases, especially for the arena, and Jamka is just fine with a Silver Bow.[/two cents]

I think you should try Brigid x Noish, not bad either, lower stat and better skills.
