So yeah, new season started about an hour and a half ago and it looks like season five's off to a pretty good start... I loved the part where Dwight said something that could be turned into an innuendo, then Jim reacts after a small pause with "... really?"
Also, Michael with a goatie... ahahahahahaha
Last but not least,

Not gonna lie, I thought the whole thing fell a little flat. I kinda wish I watched the Grey's A season premier instead (and here I am critiquing bad TV...)
It did have its moments.

I thought the second episode of the season was fairly bland. I enjoyed last weeks however. Michael really shined and Dwight was hilarious during the opening.

Personally I wasn't nitpicky about this season as a whole - my friends don't really like it, but I do. I marched in with no expectations, that's why.
I gotta watch last week's again, though. I liked some parts of the second episode, and the first episode was pretty funny.

The second episode had its moments (Jim timing Dwight for example), but I thought the whole ethics plot fell somewhat flat.

I snickered at times, but that was it. I'm not a big fan of the "insert person is doing something embarassing for himself without noticing - humour", as I'll call it for lack of a better word.

I like to watch each season as a boxed deal, rather than week by week. It doesn't feel like it has enough punch when it's on every Thursday- THAT'S a half hour of the show? It never seems long enough. Not that it's keeping me from watching it anyway... :-P
I don't like It happened in the first episode, what's not to say that something will change it by the end?

I certainly hope not. They have been building this for the entire run of the show and it would piss way too many people off. I do believe they might tease something between them however, but nothing will actually happen.

They really have distanced themselves from the original and made it their own. I doubt we will see any plot points follow it very closely any more.
