So, yeah- it's been six episodes now of season 3, and I thought I'd weigh in!
The first season was obviously amazing, and the second season still great but less so- it made me worry about this season. It started out slow, but the last two episodes- especially Mohinder's metamorphosis into some sort of creepy bug guy who drags drug dealers by the face in broad daylight back to his apartment, and Hiro's badassness- have really shined. I don't know if they're better than season one- nor would I try to compare them- but they're still great.
Opinions? Favorite new characters? Slander against Arthur Petrelli for his assholishness in killing Adam?!

SLANDER AGAINST ARTHUR PETRELLI FOR HIS ASSHOLEISHNESS IN KILLING ADAM I for one liked Adam; he made a great character, with his swashbuckler charm. Really liking Daphne; I needed a good female hero I could like. I'm not a fan of Claire. Also, much liking the recent developments of Sylar/Gabriel. Because, again, I'm not a fan of Peter. Also, Matt and his Turtle guide makes me laugh everytime Oh, and Hiro's arc has been very interesting thus far. Hmm...

Claire and Peter suck- Claire's too whiny and hypocritical ('Oh, I want to be normal THAT'S ALL I WANT! Actually, on second thought, I want to be a superhero. KAY?') and Peter's a cheap-ass god character who isn't even capable of using logic half the time ('I WENT INTO THE FUTURE TO GET YOUR POWER AND FORCED YOUR FUTURE SELF TO GIVE IT TO ME- IT'S ALL YOUR FAUUUUULT'), and I'm glad his powers are gone. Seriously. I hope he dies.

Pretty much. Also, way to leave Caitlin in the future, Peter, and not even care all that much. Bastard. I'm hoping, though it's never going to be true, that Peter gets less screen time and that Matt and Hiro/Ando get more. . . I also don't like all of Ali Later's characters. JUST GET RID OF HER GEEZ. I'm also sad they basically turned Maury Parkman into Wormail, because he had the potential to be like, the freakiest shit out there.

All four major characters suck. They need to die. Ali Larter is a terrible actress and needs to go away. Maury Parkman is freaky as hell and he's a flunkie, which is sad.

==In the words of another very wise person, Season 3 seems eerily as though the writers got baked on pot brownies while watching the "Mirror Mirror" episode of Star Trek. Most of the plot developments are just so damn generic (the evil father plotline, the damned enemy-is-the-long-lost-brother bit?! Really?). And they killed off Adam for no reason at all, in a very pathetic manner. He seriously had some good potential. Peter's an idiot, Claire's a total moron, and Mohinder has had such a 180 in character development that I am just astounded.
Oh well. Hiro is still pretty cool, Daphne's now my favorite heroine of the show, and Matt's becoming a pretty awesome character.

Quoted for truth. Hiro was the entire reason I seriously commited to the series in the first place, so it's good to see he's still himself. Adam... Hmm. He really didn't get much villian time at all. Probably by the time that the fourth season rolls around, I wouldn't be suprised if they found some way to bring him back...

I haven't seen this week's episode yet, but I've still seem some of the same trends in characters like Mohinder taking totally different directions, and the show in general moving the plot in a way that's unnatural and much different from before. A lot more of the developments seen to be for shock value; we already had plenty in the first two seasons, but in my view it's going a little overboard.
Keep in mind, however, that all these complaints come from someone who's still highly entertained by the series.

I was kind of disappointed by season 2, and season 3 is much better... I can't see how you think this season is slow... The writers saw that the critics didn't like S2 because it was slow, and it didn't really even pay off, so they sped it up on purpose... I guess everything is generic and cliche... But it's still interesting and I can't wait to see what happens. I don't see why people liked Adam... His death wasn't bad. But I'd also like to see Peter die...
