Hello there. It's my first post.
I took a crack at achieving an SSS rank. Of course I spammed savestates. Everybody who had a move star got a second turn every turn. Everybody with reasonable movement growth was sure to get Move and a few other stats. At the end of the game, I was finishing chapters in 2 or even 1 turns.
242 Turns total. Epic Fail.
Is SSS really possible? Has anybody done it? Defending Tahra and Lenster eat up 24 turns between the two of them, and Xavier isn't exactly a quick "hey, join us"...
Edit : By the way. I've been wondering about an aspect of this game. Are Nanna and Delmud really Fin's children? Or are Fin and Nanna referring to each other as such because he's raised her from birth? Reason I ask is because neither of them have Prayer. And Delmud can use Beowulf's Sword.

By the way. I've been wondering about an aspect of this game. Are Nanna and Delmud really Fin's children? Or are Fin and Nanna referring to each other as such because he's raised her from birth? Reason I ask is because neither of them have Prayer. And Delmud can use Beowulf's Sword. There were a few fan theories bouncing around a while back. One of them was that Nanna and Delmud are Beowulf's children, but Finn adopted Nanna. Another was that Delmud was Beowulf's kid, while Nanna was Finn's. These are just theories though; I don't know if there's any official word or not. Sorry, I can't help with the SSS ranking.

I've heard of only two people that have ever done a successful SSS rank, but I believe you have to use Elite Mode and Warp abuse, as well as use Fin, Dagdar, and Eyvvel a ton early-game to get below the 5 turn a chapter.
On the second question, Fin and Lachesis are/were married, so the children are canonically Fin's.

It is probably apparent I enjoy a good challenge... So once I decided to shoot for SSS...
I'm never doing it again. It is nearly impossible without save states, and even when using them it's a pain in the ass.

Most chapters are fine since they'll take a total of 5 minutes to do (2 turn stratagies) but its the chapters that don't which are the problem. Anyway this set of videos on Youtube might be of some interest. Don't nesicarily watch them but read the descriptions. Its basically a case of copy the established stratagy as that is the one that doesn't require too much luck (when compared with say, the 96 turn run*)...if you read the descriptions you'll see it very nearly does go wrong...the stragagy ChinaFE used wasn't perfect which allows for some give and take. Off-topic...that person beat FEDS in 17 minutes I might have to borrow thier stratagy and try to beat FEDS on day 1 when it comes to Europe*-I think the player got it down to 94. A basic run summary is you need movement up at every opportunity and move again at every opportunity. On some maps with your 20 movement units just running for it will be as fast if not faster than using the warp staff

Only 2 people ever came close? hmm, ok. I was hugely disappointed when I got my 242 turn score. I knew I wasn't going to pull it off (a few chapters could have been performed better), but I was hoping for less than 200 at least. I'll never do it again. Savestating takes the fun out of the game; nevermind using it every single move or action. Just getting A Rank legitimately is a task-and-a-half.
Also, nice to know Fin hooked up with Lachesis. I like Fin. Would've clarified things if he didn't refer to her as "that person" when talking to Selphina.
I found out the hard way in FE4 that his kids inherit all his stuff. Bye-bye, Brave Lance.

Thracia's ranking system is even more ridiculous than the other FE's with their EXP rank (a counterintuitive measure). If you look at the only way you're going to make it happen (1-2 turn Warp strategies and massive amounts of movement growths), it really isn't playing the game anymore.

AAA is the true best rank in a way. Which what Brighton managed to get. S, SS and SSS were only added into the later revision of the game. I'm not sure if it was because somebody managed to get those turn counts (the development team would have to make sure they are possible ) or if a number of players had managed to get AAA.

I've managed to get 183 turn finish on console. I would say the first chapters are very important if you plan to follow the strategy posted. Make sure Leaf's movement increases in the first or second chapter, and once again before chapter 9. Otherwise you cannot match the strategy in some places without getting a second movement. Also, watch the build of Asvel and Leaf carefully. In chapter 10 Asvel needs to be able to carry Leaf or vise versa, preferably the first for better survival chances.
For the most part though it is relatively easy. Only chapters 4-5 and of course 18 can be quite difficult due to the turn counts. I went over the turn counts in a few chapters and thought I could save a few turns later on. So, you have to have some patience and repeat chapters if necessary, reducing the turns on the later chapters is very difficult.
ChinaFe has some useful screenshots and replays for reference.
