Okay, this is something I've been meaning to ask for a long time now, but I've been kind of afraid to ask. I'll understand if no-one wants to tell me or if it's too personal, etc., but I'd like to know.
The thing is, I want to know why Jet Enduro and ZephyrShakuraus were banned. I understand that some sort of fight happened, but that's all I know. I don't know what the fight was about, how it started, or how it ended. Additionally, Tiltyu was banned? I didn't think Tiltyu had done anything wrong. Someone care to fill me in?
plz no ban kthx

Tiltyu revealed that she was, in fact, male.
I have to say that I am still very unsatisfied that this resulted in a ban, and if anything ever made me want to leave FESS that was it. I'll probably get reprimanded for public dissent with the action, so I shan't say much more...

Well, we can't exactly hand out verdicts without knowledge of the actual event in detail; Tiltyu's case may have been similiar to any of those defined by 'Bus in his Clarity topic rant against Affiliation.
ITT, FESS scandal discussions amount to more areas of discourse than FE altogether. Hell, I for one am not exactly aware what is used to refer as The Incident 1/II in the least.

The Tiltyu incident goes further than what you mentioned, Pair of Ducks. It goes way further than that. But I don't think I'm at liberty to discuss it.

Hell, I for one am not exactly aware what is used to refer as The Incident 1/II in the least. "The Incident" is something that happened way back on FESS1. I've been a member for four years now, and even I'm not entirely sure of what went down (nor do I really care for that matter). "The Incident II" refers to the Jet and Zephyr nonsense.

What is this, the UFESSR? Come on, people. This is an internet forum, stop pretending like the world is going to crash if you have an opinion contrary to what the people in charge have.

It's not about opinions, it's about the fact that what is said in the staff board is supposed to stay there. If anyone has the liberty to talk about why it was such a big deal (since it wasn't to me), it should be one of the administrators.

Personally, I wonder if some of the testaments to FESS' long history of good and bad (such as Gunlord's writings) helps or hurts this forum sometimes...

I can't say I spotted any form of negativity in Gunlord's article towards FESS (Yes, I read the entire thing) to which an onlooker could have foresought, besides an opinion of "WTF? I dun wanna get raped in a chatroom or yelled at fur doin somethin goodz!"

No, his writing isn't negative at all. However, Does one really want to get themselves involved with a forum with this much baggage and drama?

Some would respond that statement in that it would be an honour to even be mentioned in some form (notorius or otherwise) on this forum without being pre or current member of staff.

Haha, I'm not going to argue. My point is that certain people left for that reason, and I'm wondering if that same reason keeps certain people out. Not necessarily all, but some.

That's true, to an extent. Though if I'm getting my ecclesiassy correct here;
Completion Date of Gunlord's Article: Pre-FESS4/Tempfess. Estimated No. of Mem(e)bers on FESS4/Tempfess: 2500+ Current Number of Mem(e)bers on FESS5: 1964.
Fairly decent turnout, though, IMO, the main reason for loss of members would have been the transition from FESS4-> FESS5.

Well, even on FESS4, there was a good number of people who weren't active, so I think we got most of the active posters/contributors. A decrease would be normal, since the inactive/lurkers would likely not make new accounts here.
I actually didn't realize there was the FESS History; it's kind of cool that I'm mentioned, though I feel what Gunlord said about me is better applied to FireLizard.

Furaffinity forums has several thousand members. I don't think drama is that big a deal to someone unless they get caught up in the middle of it. FESS has moved on from each bit of drama we've run into. Unless members start actively going out and refusing to let the drama die, I think we'll be fine in that department.
