This may have been allready answered, but the problem i am having is that every time that I try and initiate the data transfer from Path of Radiance To radiant Dawn the entire console freezes up.  The power button does not work and I have to restart the console by unplugging and re-plugging it in.  Does this have something to do with my consoles software or something that is wrong with my disk?

Nah, it's the PoR data on your GCN memory card. If it contains Easy data at all, then it can't transfer at all. Either go in and delete your Easy files, or you can wait until Nintendo gets a fix and send in your disc.

This is a known issue; it bit me in the butt too. If there are ANY PoR easy-mode saves on your GCN card (even if they're not complete), the transfer will crash and freeze the Wii (you can still power off by holding down the power button for five seconds). If you don't need the easy mode files, just delete them and it should work fine. The transfer screen is glitched no matter what you do, but at least you'll be able to transfer.

The game has been out for a month now, and we're still waiting on a fix for Nintendo. DMAEmo does not approve.

Oh, so it might actually be a good thing to be a neglected European...

*probably gets a glitch-free PAL-version*

Although I'd rather have a glitched version now than a working version god-knows-when

It seems that Nintendo is fully aware of the problem since emails have been flying around about it. If you want to get your game fixed, you need to send it to Nintendo during mid-December and then you can transfer easy data from PoR to RD.

I'm curious where you heard this.  I probably won't bother, but it would be nice for other people who didn't already delete the easy data (or were smart enough to copy it to another mem card before deleting)

People emailed Nintendo and that's what they said.  Here's the response:

Hello,

You recently contacted us regarding an issue you encountered when transferring your Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance save file to your Wii console for use with Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.  We are pleased to announce that there is a solution for this issue that will be ready mid-December.

This solution will require sending in your Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn game disc in for repair.  Once the disc is returned to you, you may then transfer the Path of Radiance save file information into a new Radiant Dawn save file.

This solution will require sending in your Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn game disk in for repair.  To this end, please respond with your name, address, and phone number.  When everything is in place, we will set up a warranty repair for your game and email you repair instructions.  We appreciate your continued patience in this matter.

Thank you.

Hmm, yes, hopefully teh PAL release, if it ever comes, shall be rid of this. Fortunately, I've been able to play the NTSC version so far, being the import nutcase that I am.

Has anyone heard anything about the possibility of just buying a disc w/ no error instead of getting one and shipping it in before playing?

For those who don't know yet, they offically started the repair thing sometime this month. You need to contact them either by email or telephone and they will send you all the info you need to get the game repaired. You will be charged no money, and all shipping is handed by UPS.

As for new games, I am guessing that they are going to make stores turn in their current ones and send out ones that are fixed. Though, I don't know for sure.
