The newest (korean) online RPG of addiction, anyone play it?

Keep in mind these are only eight of my more-than-enough characters shown.

I had tried it for a bit, but MMOs never really hold my attention. That, and I play too many games as it is for me to be spending my time on time-drains.

It's better than most MMOs by virtue of being like the D&D arcade games, but it's not better than either of those.

Then there's the grind issue.  Better than the rest of its genre, but still slow for somebody who wants a normal game out of it.

Dear God no.  It's peer-to-peer, which means that if your ISP says "nope" to port forwarding - or if ANYONE'S ISP says it?  It's going to be absolutely terrible to play through.

Gunners are also absurdly dominant.

Only if you don't know how to properly approach them, which nobody in Basic seems to know how to do (which confuses me, since I have no trouble doing so myself).

The only class outright broken is (male) Mechanics, and even they have one major drawback (they use the weakest armor type in the game, and unlike everyone else in the game who uses it, gets no form of shield or defensive buff, which basically means if you can rush them right away they won't live past one combo).

Like 'Bus, I played for a little bit with a friend (got through almost all of the dungeons in the first town, IIRC), but, I just couldn't really devote the time to continually play, especially when I have a backlog of games to get through and not much time to play them as it was.

That's not to say that I didn't enjoy the game. A beat-em-up mixed with a dungeon-crawler is quite a nice mashup.

Keep in mind that approaching a Gunner becomes much easier when you aren't lagging to death to the point where you can't even SEE them shoot you before you're pincushioned in a combo.

It's really not as bad as you make it sound. Yes, P2P has a lot of issues but it's not anywhere near unplayable.

Odds are either your computer had some issues or theirs did. It happens sometimes, but most of the time it's at least reasonable.

Actually, it is exactly that bad, owing to my router issues.

With some people, it's fine, but if there's even one person there's a connection issue with, I'm better off not playing at all.

The original version (in this case, Dungeon & Fighter in Korea) is generally always going to be better because they get the good stuff first. Both the Japanese version (Arad Senki) and our English version (DFO) can only play catchup.

On the subject of DFO, it's getting a content update next week: More dungeons and level cap raise (50 -> 60).
