Myself, it's been a hell of a lot of Team Fortress 2, because it's just that much fun.  Otherwise, I've been bouncing between Etrian Odyssey 3 and SMT: Strange Journey, because apparently my DS is reserved only for games that hate me.  Oh, and I've been tempted to play Yggdra Union again too.

And OH MAN GOLDEN SUN 3 NEXT WEEK YYYEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

Team Fortress 2.

I binged on Castlevania games for a good chunk of time, but that's coming to an end. Recently I started playing New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Final Fantasy IV: The After Years a bit.

Recently I've been playing TF2 a lot and I'm pretty meh aside of Engie and Medic.

Otherwise I finished Donkey Kong Country Returns in 2 days because I had nothing better to do. Fun game, more challenging than some of the old ones for sure.

Well, since the last time I was here, I picked up a PS3... which died a couple of weeks ago. But on that, I had been playing a hell of a lot of Dragon Age

And I also recently acquired the first two Mass Effect games for PC, so I've been replaying the first one to have a new Shepard for ME2.

Lately, I've been playing a lot of Bioware games... and they're all awesome.

They're my best two, though I'm pretty good as a Heavy and I've been getting a lot of practice as a Soldier lately.  I'm half-decent at Sniper and Spy, poor at the other three.

Lately, I've been playing a lot of Bioware games... and they're all awesome.

So totally yes.  I find myself tempted to replay them every so often.  I usually succumb.

Lately I've been doing decent as a Black Box + Backup + Pain Train Soldier as well, but I play mostly defensive roles or point capping with it. I'd probably pick Heavy more if Snipers and Spies wouldn't be so annoying, but I do a decent job when I have him I suppose.

Otherwise I hate the rifle in this game for its charge mechanic and speed down when zoomed, since I'm used to rifles without either of those limitations, and I'm a rather mediocre Spy. I liked the Pyro early on but he quickly went down in use and while I know the Demo and the Scout are some of the best classes in the game, I'm nothing impressive with them either.

Lessee... Right now, I'm trying to finish Etrian Odyssey 3. Damn College work getting in my way!

Before that, Persona 3 Portable, and before that... nothing.

at least a month or maybe two ago i started playing amnesia: dark descent. from what i gather, it's actually a very short game, but dammit all if i can't play for more than five minutes before i get too scared and need to take a week off. if you're looking for a game to scare you shitless, this is the game for you. it's an inde game, made by the same guys who did penumbra.

I was playing Persona 3 Portable until I got angry at my game and I haven't finished it to the end since. I'm just playing Tales of Innocence so I can stay sane once Golden Sun: Dark Dawn is out.

NEXT WEEK /RAGE OF A THOUSAND SUNS

Mostly things I have to play for professional reasons. A quick rundown:

* Both Pro Evolution Soccer and FIFA. I prefer Pro Evo.

* A lot of NHL '11. Everytime they patch something, they break two other things. I'm starting to seriously dislike EA.

* Baseball Superstars '11 for the iPhone, which I'm working on now. Decent little game if you like old NES baseball games.

* Just picked up Lightning Warrior Raidy II, a hentai game I'm intending on reviewing. Can't judge it yet.

Non-professionally, I've had the following:

* Just got back into Final Fantasy VII. Basically, I'm judging it on how it is in 2010 instead of what it was in 1998. So far, it's not bad, though it's basically 1984 if 1984 was 70 hours too long. I just got out of Midgar, and if I remember right, that's about where the game starts to fall apart.

* Beat two eroge games that I was intending on reviewing, but they fell through: Tokimeki Check-In!, and Kazoku Keikaku. The former is derivative horseshit at every level, and the latter is the best visual novel game I've played ever. Yes, ever, and I'm counting non-pornographic games in that too, like Disgaea Infinite.

* Bought a little PS3 game called Crescent Pale Mist. It's... interesting so far. Not the best game I've played - by a longshot - but it's fun enough.

* Aileen started a game of Record of Agarest War that I picked up in my own save file. It's... eh, so far.

* Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love is awesome and amazing, and everyone needs to grab the PS2 version. Now.

* I don't have time to review it - much like New Monshou - but NBA 2K11 might be the best sports game of all time.

* Etrian Odyssey III is great. They finally got it right, I think, though there's a couple of changes I didn't like from EO2. It's a great game, but if you have EO2 and haven't beaten it, or want a cheaper game, stick to it until you're done with it. Some of the things they did to rebalance the game kinda broke things; for example, the Prince is a God's class once you get his passive healing skills built up, but the farmer has some of the best passive skills in history, most of which used to be the Medic's. It's easier than EO2, but you have to grind a bit more.

Other than that, that's really the 5% of my free time that I can play games I want to. The rest of that time is spent either writing about the industry or playing a game for review.

EDIT: To everyone I know that's into JRPGs: ALRIGHT ALRIGHT I'LL FUCKIN' TRY GOLDEN SUN ALREADY.

One of the things I personally like is the idea that they've put a bit more story into it- Though the setting itself suffers a bit as a result (At least to me- It might be Nostalgia glasses, but I think EO1's Atmosphere was much better compared to what EO3's feels like just because of how little you know. Gameplay wise EO3 is better bar none, but I wish the atmosphere for the Labyrinth was on par).

Hey 'Bus have you heard about this game called Golden Sun? There's a sequel that's about to come out...

That reminds me this is on my radar but only the slightly shoddy Wii port came out in Europe.

Games played:

* Super Mario Galaxy. Pretty close to the end, is it me or do 3D Mario games still have slight camera issues. Once that disappointment I got used to, its great if a little bit of jumping from one set piece to another. Suppose I'll have to go mad getting 120 stars and get the sequel sometime.

* Might and Magic Clash of Heroes. Its an interesting take on a connect 3 puzzle game with some turn based strategy of sorts if a little unbalanced and luck based (well, its more about making the of what you have in terms of units on the board) in places.  I can't comment on lore or anything like that as I've never played any of the parent franchise. On the final chapter and I have a feeling the developers were getting fed up of the game at this point as all of a sudden the whole resources system and side quests seem to have gone out the window, the hero starts at a higher level (but you still need to level their units). To be honest I am but only due to find the last faction so far to be a chore to play with.  Also its coming soon to XBLA and PSN.

As for Golden Sun. Was the start of the lost age supposed to be like going into the 80s with no sense of direction or objective except 1 random NPC who is a plot trigger. I got a little bored at that point and shelved it for a future date. Seems like it could be a good time to resume.

Also currently replaying Golden Sun 1 and 2 to prepare for the third one, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Disney's Warren Spector's Epic Mickey.

On top of that I'm waiting for EU-release of Donkey Kong Country Returns.

I'm currently playing the old Kingdom Hearts; never really got into it as a kid, so I wanted to see if I would like it now.  I like it, but it's not the greatest in my opinion. 
Looking forward to the new Golden Sun; I don't think I'll need any other game this holiday season. Except for maybe Fable III.
