Just two changes from the Japanese script that I noticed. I think they're not too trivial, and not just small nuances.

Firstly, when I was collecting boss conversations submitted to my site, I noticed that the Ike vs Black Knight conversation in Part 3 Chapter 7 was slightly changed. I also heard many reports suggesting the change.

The conversation in the English version:

Quote
Ike: So, you are alive. Somehow, I knew it wasn't over yet.
Black Knight: Of course it wasn't over. You were a boy trying to live up to the memory of the greatest swordsman in history.
Ike: And yet, I was the one who walked out of the castle that day.
Black Knight: You have your father to thank for that. When you told me that he had crippled himself, I realized that I had never fought him at all, merely his shadow.
Ike: What are you getting at?
Black Knight: I saw immediately that you were not your father's equal, but that one day you might be. So I did the only thing I could to keep you alive... I let you win.
Ike: ...You did, didn't you? I've relived that fight so many times... How could I not have seen it before?
Black Knight: You were not yet capable of seeing it. But I had to let you live, so that you could continue to train and perhaps one day be worthy of Gawain's legacy. My armor's blessing is gone, let us see if that day is today.
Ike: I promise you that it will be. Begin.

The original conversation, translated:

Quote
Ike: So you are still alive...
Black Knight: You thought you could kill me with that level of swordsmanship?
Ike: ! What do you mean by that!?
Black Knight: ......Let me tell you something. When I fought your father, Gawain, and when I fought you I wasn't the same.
Ike: Are you saying you're different people?
Black Knight: I didn't mean that. But... due to problems with my teleportation only my spirit and armour arrived, and not my body... so my fighting ability was greatly reduced.
Ike: ...What are you now?
Black Knight: Body... So that means, I'm different from when we fought at Nados Castle. Also, let me tell you some more good news. My armour's blessing... was lost at the end of our previous battle.
Ike: So that means, even with normal weapons, I can harm you. To me that is definitely good news. Since then 3 years have passed- I'm different from back then. Come!!

Both are conceptually similar, but quite different. In the English version the Black Knight is pretty much saying "You won, but I let you win", while the Japanese version has him say "You won, but not against the real me".

Why did they change it? I'm thinking that they thought the whole deal about the warp powder malfunctioning was incredibly corny (especially as a get out), so they altered it.

Secondly, something that I haven't checked thoroughly, but which Mishinyo from LJ noted.

In the opening of Part 3 Chapter 1, Mist, Lethe and Lyre give food to the Begnion soldiers. Right afterwards there is a small conversation with Ike, Mist, Soren, Lethe and Lyre. However this was apparently cut from the English version, which seems strange as it was kind of trivial to begin with.

Can anybody else (who's playing Normal/Hard mode?) confirm if this is true? : o

The translated conversation, if it helps people remember:

Quote
Ike: Looks like they all fell for it. Good work you three.
Lethe: We didn't really do anything. It was all Mist's work.
Mist: Ah, not really...
Lethe: ...But... I still can't believe we could so easily...
Lyre: Beorc truly are simple animals. If it was us... we wouldn't have fallen for such a simple trick.
Lethe: Lyre!
Lyre: What I said was the truth.
Ike: Because of that, everything is going to plan. Isn't that a good thing?
Lyre: ...Uh, I guess so.
Soren: ...We don't have any time to waste. Before the next shift of guards arrive, we must break through the castle gate.
Ike: Ranulf and the others are waiting outside for us. Let's go!

Are there any others that people have noticed? Of course, you'd have to be slightly familiar with Japanese, or the partial script translations... Also, any thoughts :?

Let me say, with joy, that I'm actually glad they changed the Black Knight conversation. "Lol, you only won because Alondite locked up on me and I had to reboot my sword." Yeah...

As for the conversation in 3-1, I'm pretty sure remember reading it, so I *think* it's in NA normal/hard mode, but... Why cut it for "easy"? The story was jumping around enough as it was... Someone with a better memory could probably say for sure.

I also believe that in 3-1 the conversation DID exist.  (or at least a conversation to that effect took place).  Maybe this confirms that there IS more dialogue in the normal/hard modes in NA.

I've just finished Part 2 endgame again and noticed a similar bug. Though I have not looked at the Japanese script, the game instantly assumes Ludveck is captured and the dialogue is very weird..

Basically, Geoffrey and Elinicia start talking about the Rebel armu. Even if you're overwhelmed it still says that Ludveck has been taken down. It's very weird.

I do too remember the food dialogue, and am a mere 2 chapters away from it.

Defeat Ludveck and you'll see he surrenders... I think it takes the "defeat boss" victory as canon, even if you just held out for 12 turns (though to be fair, if you lasted 12 turns it'd only be a couple more at most before you reach and defeat Ludveck since by then the reinforcements have stopped).

You're... Different. We all are. Him especially. But there's something kinda fantastic about that, isn't there?

Dialogue:
Quote
Begnion: Tch! These sub-humans don't know how much trouble they're causing! We can't go anywhere!

Begnion: Tell me about it. Just yesterday, we could've gone out for drinks and had outselves a merry old time.

Begnion: Fortunately, we have enough food. They'll give up if we hold out long enough.

Mist: Uhm... Sorry we're late!

Begnion: Who are you? Why are you outside? The city is under lockdown! You need permission to leave your homes!

Mist: What? Well, that's weird. We were told to hand out food to all the watchmen.

Begnion: W-What?

Mist: Well, I guess this isn't the place. Should we head back? We don't want the food to spoil...

Begnion: W-Wait! Don't go! You don't have to head back. That food is for us. We're sure of it!

Mist: Oh, wonderful! Would you call everyone then? I'll pass out the food and drinks.

---
Ike: Looks like all the watchmen are asleep. Great job, everyone.

Soren: The first step is done. Next, we clear out the remaining guards and open the main gate.

Ike: Ranulf and his troops are waiting outside for us. Let's go!
---
Begnion: Wh-Who are you?!

Begnion: Sub-Humans! What's going on?! What happened to the lookout?!

Rommit(boss): Stand your ground! Our reinforcements will be here soon. Hold fast until they arrive!

That's from Hard mode.

Am I the only one that played on Easy first? >_>

That 3-1 convo is on Easy...

EDIT: ...Oh, so it was different... But it doesn't change anything, so... 6_9

Maybe they deleted it to make room for those cheesy "commercial for the next part" things...

Yes.

In all seriousness, though, most of the people I know played Normal first so that they could get Hard mode...

I've heard of additional conversations for Normal/Hard mode, but additional conversations for Easy?  That sounds similar to the whole "Everyone's leadership stars help" argument.

Another thing I noticed, the conversation between Elincia and Ike after Ike saves Lucia. In the original version, didn't Mist join in on the conversation? If so, they took her out in the NoA version.

Correct me if I'm wrong here.
