Now, Path of Radiance's music was great when it came out, but Radiant Dawn takes PoR's music and stuffs it down the shredder. Not only are songs longer, but instead of looping each time you battle, they continue where they left off (which saves a lot of headaches). Not only that, but you have multiple themes for the different armies, which is nice.

My question to you all is this: Which theme, battle or not, is your favorite? Personally, I love the Crimean Army's theme and the late Dawn Brigade's, after you form the Daein Alliance.

The Dawn Brigade and Liberation Army battle themes are really, really good. Everything else in the game fits the mood perfectly. Izukas theme is also great.

You don't have to trust me anymore, but I wanted you to all know, since..this was just a stupid lie that ended up snowballing from the beginning. I was wrong, and I'm completely sorry. Can you forgive me for being a stupid, immature kid? Jeff, Feez, everyone else, thanks for understanding and being forgiving.

You'll get none from me, asshole. No wonder Zephyr was so fucked up.

Radiant Dawn has several nice track--I enjoy the Izuka battle theme, as well as the fact that they used the PoR themes for each of the beast kings--however, I still have to say that I enjoy PoR's soundtrack much better as a whole. The problem that I have with Radiant Dawn is that it's far too ambient. There's very few tracks that I really want to hum along with. This, to me, is a sin. :sob:

Proud Fight - basically, the map theme for parts of Ike's and Elincia's chapters
The battle theme for the second half of Part I...  I forget what it's called
The Devoted - Greil Mercenaries' Battle theme
Dawn Brigade - first half of Part I
Tibarn's battle theme
Finale in Fear
Caigneghis' Battle Theme

I forget what else, but I remember REALLY liking those.

I hear that.  This is really the only Fire Emblem where I've gone into a battle or scene and didn't recognize the beat, as there wasn't one to begin with.  As such, most of the songs from Souen (FE9) were the best, to me.  Although, Pelleas's theme song (if you can call it that) was VERY well done in my opinion.

I personally don't see the problem with ambience. It helps the mood without taking focus away from what you should be focusing on, although I admit I do particularly enjoy almost all the battle themes.

Ambience can work well, but I don't care for it in a game like this, and I don't think it was done well here anyway. It may set the mood, but when you can't really get into the music, then it makes it hard to get into the rest of the game. Until I hit the return of the Black Knight's theme, praise Yune, the music as a whole was actually starting to annoy me because it was taking me out of the game: "Oh, yay! Another synthisized string track without a defining melody!"

PoR, on the other hand, attached itself early on. Tracks like "His Father's Son" drove me to push headfirst into the game because the had a beat and a melody that made the story and gameplay all that easier to feel apart of.

The Mercenaries' battle theme sorta reminds me of Priates of the Carrabian. Don't ask why though.
