Many have announced this ahead of time, but it is time for us FESSers to come clean on how we play RD.

The question is simple: Which means of control (all shown below) do you use?

--Horizontal Remote (2)
--Vertical Remote (1)
--Classic Controller (1)
--GCN Controller (10)

I use the Vertical Remote, which maps each of the key actions onto one button while keeping it to one hand.  The only "shift" involves holding the 2 button (which maps the D-Pad and A button to camera mode), which I find acceptable.  The only real annoyance is when the game defaults to Horizontal mode every time it boots; permanently switching between these modes (or better yet, defaulting to Vertical) defintely would have helped.

What about the rest of you?  Is there anyone here that actually keeps the Remote on its side?

I took the 'Cube controller (but would've taken a modded SNES one over that >).  I knew where the buttons were, and I didn't need to learn some new combination to move around.  I also like not running down batteries

GameCube controller. I already have a bunch (I don't have a classical controller), it doesn't run down batteries, and, in my opinion, it's the most ergonomical controller ever made. (Well, maybe.)

Plus, I wanted to jump right into the game when I first got it, and with the Cube controller, I didn't have to learn any new controls.

First 2: Horizontel Wii

Now: GC controller because of batteries.

Horizontal Wiimote.

It's light, and feels real nice to hold. The B Button combinations were weird at first, but once I got used to them, I really like them. Plus, it's got rumble.

And batteries really isn't a big deal for me. I put in fresh batteries when I started the game, and they didn't run out until I was about 50 hours into the game. I don't mind changing batteries every 50 hours!

I alternate between horizontal wiimote and GCN controller; moreso the wiimote now because it's convenient.  I need to get used to the Wiimote a bit more, but the GCN controller used to be so much more comfortable to use.

Gamecubr controller, because it saves batteries and it's what I'm used to. More comfortable too.

I used the Classic controller the first playthrough, and it worked well enough.

I'll probably use the Gamecube controller from here on, though, because it's much more comfortable, and I think the button layout works a little better for FE.

Started on the gamecube controller; but then I had to move my TV to the other side of the room to make space; making the distance between sofa and telly much larger (about 9 feet, rather than 3 feet). As a result, I switched to the classic controller because it allows wirelessness; I'd of had to sit on the floor otherwise.

As for battery consumption, the classic controller hardly seems to use any of the wiimotes batteries- its still going on the same set I started with on chapter 1-8: I guess its the motion sensitivity and light pointer that must suck up the power- since FE doesn't use these, the battery turnover seems minimal. Besides, even if it was terrible, how cheap is a stack of reasonable alkaline batteries?

I suppose those of you whom invested in Wavebirds have have the best deal though...

Well yeah, that's the thing. One pair of batteries lasted me 50 hours with Radiant Dawn (rumble was on). The Wiimote, for one thing, uses a LOT less power when the nunchuck isn't attached. I think I only get about 15-20 hours out of it when I'm playing a game like Metroid Prime 3.

I just use my Wavebird, because it's the most intuitive, wireless, and light!

Gamecube Controller, because it was more comfortable and I knew the controls from PoR. I use the horizontal Wii-mote every now and then, though.

Gamecube controller, because it saves on having to use batteries and the controls are just like it was from POR. Although, you still have to use the Wii remote to start the game up.

Do you keep it horizontal or make it vertical?
