Well I got Path of Radiance just a few weeks ago and finished it on easy mode yesterday. Personally I am not that good of a strategist and thus am planning on going for normal mode next. I have read a little bit about the fixed stats mode but I don't really understand that much of it.

I like the random stat ups but there are times where I dislike it as well. So my question is: Is fixed mode better than random mode? Or are there any noticable changes? Any info (That I can understand ) would be appreciated

Serenes Forest's info on it.

For me, I use Random mode. I don't really understand it, and don't want to potentially screw them all my team up by attacking the wrong units.

Fixed mode is usually considered harder than random mode because you can't abuse your level ups for better stats. On the other side, though, your characters will never get completely screwed over, and their fixed mode stats are slightly (by about half a point) higher than their random mode averages, given you aren't abusing. The growth modifiers from enemy and equipment is small enough to not be particularly noticeable in the long run (+/-2 at the extreme after 20 levels).

Also, if you're planning on transferring your data to FE10, random mode is probably better because you can play with the RNG to cap stats.

Thanks for the replies, well I am not abusing but it's good to know that it won't differ most of the time unless you have bad luck. That was all I really needed to know. I am planning on transfering to Radiant Dawn...if it ever gets an european release

At first I didn't look forward that much to the GC game, since well...I guess because I was used to the handheld but in the end it really came out well and I'm glad I played this game. And now I definatly want Radiant Dawn too. But I still have lots to do in this one, luckily.
